That's an oxymoron...You can't be both open minded and only willing to accept advice from a select few. Clearly you don't mind disrespecting everyone else's opinion, even if they can help you save a lot of weight, and your replies often have a nasty, condescending and aggressive tone. You need to lighten up (no pun intended).I am open minded and I do take into account the advice or opinion of people whose experience I respect.
That's rubbish Alf, if you walk all year round , especially in the mountains, you wouldn't say that, because you would just know the folly of taking very light inadequate clothing. You only make that mistake once.Only toward pack weight yes, but wearing lighter clothing is always good...The lighter your worn clothing the less energy you body uses use to move yourself about so the less food you need to carry which in turn saves more weight.
Obviously, but I have amassed outdoor clothing that is both ultralight and that can be used all year round. That's rubbish Alf, if you walk all year round , especially in the mountains, you wouldn't say that, because you would just know the folly of taking very light inadequate clothing. Wear the lightest gear possible for the conditions you may face? Not just wear the lightest gear you've got, surely?
Who said anything about accepting the opinion of only a select few? It's not about miles hiked or summits climbed, it's about people who offer advice and opinion based on something other than advertising copy, Youtube reviews and Lighterpack competitions. That's an oxymoron...You can't be both open minded and only willing to accept advice from a select few. I've had the relevant person on ignore pretty much since I joined!Just discovered the Ignore function.
Or what to mark as "consumable" or "worn" on lighterpack to make your base weight reasonably light to try and ignore the fact that your overall kit isn't really, despite looking like it'd be horribly uncomfortable. And, to be honest, I will welcome your advice too... if I want to go camping for a night in the local woods or to apply for a circus act.
Works fine on Android. Probably Apple crippling Safari.Just a shame the website doesn’t work properly on phone or iPad so you can read all the details about the different models.
That’s right. They are so rubbish as a company - won’t see the year out.Works fine on Android. Probably Apple crippling Safari.
I did, all the way from Seetoller to Scafell Pike on an unusually hot and sunny day...My cap worked perfectly.
Same reason I wear my cap.
You should be more open minded and prepared to take gear advice from those in the know if you want to save weight...If your not interested in saving weight then surely you are on the wrong forum...
Do you use adequate sunscreen to protect the ears, neck, cheeks, nose and areas not protected by a cap?Obviously, but I have amassed outdoor clothing that is both ultralight and that can be used all year round.

Which reminds me, I emailed Rab, who confirmed the Pulse has now been discontinued & replaced with the Force HoodyI don't need sunscreen on my neck or arms when I'm wearing my Rab Pulse sun hoody and my cap has a large brim which shields my entire face from the sun so don't need it on my face either. If I was to carry sunscreen it would be an ultralight lip balm stick with an SPF50 protection factor, which I have at home, and which weighs 10g.
Probably adequate enough with SPF30 protection while the hood is up.I don't need sunscreen on my neck or arms when I'm wearing my Rab Pulse sun hoody and my cap has a large brim which shields my entire face from the sun so don't need it on my face either. They don’t state the actual UPF level of protection in the splurb.Which reminds me, I emailed Rab, who confirmed the Pulse has now been discontinued & replaced with the Force Hoody
I know and unfortunately the Force weighs a lot more than the Pulse...153g in Medium vs 126g in Large. I think they have made a big mistake discontinuing it as was easily one of their most versatile tops.Which reminds me, I emailed Rab, who confirmed the Pulse has now been discontinued & replaced with the Force Hoody
It's UPF30+They don’t state the actual UPF level of protection in the splurb.
