Going to Iceland with my friend André this Friday. Super excited!! Everything is packed and weighed. Base weight of 4,7 kg, a little bit more then I am used to but I want to be prepared for the bad weather Iceland is known for.

Pack list here and blog post with some pictures and Andrés list here.

So are you using the rest of your travel Kg's allowance for food ? - I understand it's worth taking as much as you can.

We'll be staying on trail for almost all of the trip so not much time for the local cuisine. :)

Is that 750g of dried food every day Jon?

Good man. :)

The 750 g includes, breakfast, lunch, dinner, 3 x chocolate bars, peanuts, M&Ms, different candy (Most salt licorice, remember i'm Swedish :) )

Usually i total around 650 - 800 g per day. So this should be enough.

have a good time. was there for 2 weeks 10 years ago. I'd definitely swap the mini groundhog pegs for something bigger for your mid corners. the campsite at Landmannalaugar has boxes of big rocks available for holding tents down - you probably don't want to have to do that with a cuben tent.....

was there in July. the week before, they had had terrible weather with many tents blown down /off..

Thanks for the concern. The groundhog pegs are quite small but there is no problem holding them down with rocks :)

Galdhöpiggen 2469 m in the background.

Also according to the weather forecast we can expect 8-10 m/s winds and 10-14 degrees. Superb conditions for Iceland i think!

Nice vid

Is the knee ok now?

How you liking the Ultramid?
Looked like the side panels were moving around a fair bit in the wind.

Thanks!

The knee is holding up good. The Ultamid is superb and very well built. I think we had around 50-60 mph during the night when we shot that scene.

Interesting looking trip, I think videos of trips are really gaining value. I think the Ultamid2 is the best MID out there at the moment.

Thanks for posting :)
