Facebook Marketplace gear worth a look

For higher value items you get someone with a bit of sense doing the interaction and they seem very plausible. I had one trying to buy my old 1978 Honda Goldwing, I even spoke to him on the phone, seemed like a nice bloke but I told him I wouldn't sell it to someone who hadn't viewed it in person. The give away was he was apparently happy to pay for it based entirely on my description. I relisted it saying "I would not sell to someone who had not viewed it in person". It sold to the first person who viewed it. If only I'd pointed out that would happen

Martin Rye is selling his Atompacks Mo 60 long back 19-21cm with large hip belt for £200 on Facebook. The mesh pocket on one shoulder strap has some damage. Trusted seller. If you want one of these this is a bargain.

Beware. I've been trying to sell a bike on FB Marketplace and have had at least 6 scam attempts. I'll only buy/sell on there now to someone I know of....

The last time I listed something on Marketplace I got a deluge of scam attempts. So I just list in individual groups now and don't tick the marketplace box. That's generally fine.

Seconded. I only use the main marketplace for local items requiring a pickup.
