Anybody want to sell their fake trailstar?

Can't bring myself to buy an AliExpress one new because it just feels a bit unethical, and I'd like the real thing, but if anyone has an Ali one to sell that would let me test the idea a bit before shelling out for the genuine article and also hopefully let me camp a bit this summer rather than waiting 12 weeks!

let me know
many thanks

I bought it a few years ago in a fit of curiousity. I put it up once on the lawn and intended to to do the extras - like seam sealing etc. but never did.
Been stored in it's stuff sack since - all warm and dry.
Just got it out and gave it the once over - nothing amiss that I can see.
So it's basicaly new.

Cost me £41 - add on postage and it's yours.

How is buying one second hand or new any different on terms of perceived ethics lol. In any case you can't buy them new anymore anyway as they don't exist on Ali express anymore

better ethically obviously because you are not buying something new and therefore promoting new manufacture of plastic and not getting it shipped from China. to me that is still better. yes it doesn't address the ethical problem that somebody is ripping off MLD..

C'mon, It's about saving money, nothing to do with "ethics". 😇 If it really was to do with "ethics" you wouldn't buy the China version at all. Vast majority of your electrical goods are plastic and shipped from China. and where do you think MLD buy their materials? :rolleyeses:

I think the ethical bit was about buying 2nd hand rather than new, not about buying new mld vs new aliexp, between which there's probably not much difference.

I'm not claiming one is objectively more ethical necessarily, my original wording was that it feels a bit unethical. I don't like buying new stuff if I can avoid it, and if prefer to buy a 2nd hand genuine TS too if they weren't so hard to come by. plus as I said, idea that its nicking a cottage manufacturer's good idea, for me that feels less ok. blah each to their own fashion of consuming

Buying secondhand when you can - surely that has to be better that encouraging even more manufacturing
- and hopefully preventing more landfill ?
Not to mention saving £'s .....

Of course second hand purchases are to be morally and environmentally supported over buying new. However the OP made it sound like he didn't want to buy the fake Trailstar new because it was unethical towards MLD, but he'd still take a second hand one rather than just buying the MLD shelter. The morally and environmentally conscious option would be just to buy the MLD Trailstar and if you didn't like it sell it to one of us ;)

Yes fair point its a bit of a compromise in that sense. Though obviously it would be better to buy a SH MLD one...which i was trying to do
