Trangia gas burner

Was a huge fan of the Trangia with a meths burner for years as I liked its ability In the wind , but eventually gave up and bought a cheap lightweight gas burner as I found gas cartridges easier to source. Having recently seen the gas burner that fits into the Trangia, quite fancy trying one out, anybody using one?

we issue them for our Explorers.

I think they are made by Primus for Trangia. there is also a cheaper Go systems version available.

they are fine. Though we had a blockage in one recently, it was easy enough to dismantle and clean the jet in the field.

Not that exact model, I used to run a Trangia with a Primus Omnilfuel stove for snow melting until I switched to the Esbit heat exchanger pots.

A gas burner in a Trangia is the only gas stove that should be allowed by law. You need a full set - meths, gas & multifuel. But only in a 25 or 27 - not that abomination Paul posted. Can the admin not ban him for that? upload_2015-7-30_1-49-24.png

The holy grail of course is the Kap Arctic but probaly to much for Jetboil weenies to handle! ;)

Please get the correct burner, and if you go for using the cheep cylinder Butane then be careful, they will flair up as it tends to run liquid gas straight away. Can be interesting if your not ready for it. You have been warned, use the correct burner and the correct cylinder for the job, Trangia did all that research for a reason. Not some bloke in his Garden shed. (I have nothing against people who do research in sheds how ever!)

Just bought a trangia gas burner off Ebay for £20, normal price £45 +, now I need some weather (decent ) to test it!
