Smallish, light single blade knife

I've had a Swiss Army knife for years and it's still going strong, but it's overkill for most hiking trips. I have a minute pair of scissors in my first aid kit, so all I really need is a smallish blade. I know some go for the Swiss Army Classic, but that blade is a bit too small, i don't need the nail file, tooth pick or tweezers, and I have the scissors.
So: small and light, tough enough for the odd little feather stick, perhaps with a locking blade for safety though not a must (legal issues I realise). Suggestions?

I think the Trail Designs one is a little dinky. I think the above mentioned SAK Classic is around 3cm, so something slightly bigger.

This one perhaps? It's my wife's camping knife - 12.1 grammes. No idea where it came from - she's had it at least 30 years.

Made by Richardsons, Sheffield (of course!).

I had a hard time not buying more knives in the US.....sanity rules, as I normally only take one of these backpacking..

A wee Opinel No 4 for me

It lives in my food bag and gets used for cutting cheese and meats

Has the guy in the photo got very big hands or is that a very small knife? One of those isn't going to protect you against bears Edh, I can see why you have two...
But looks good and that weight is very nice indeed.
I like Opinel too - have an 8, also a bit big for hiking but cracking blade.
Are these tiny blades any good for food prep etc? I only do real camp cooking when with my gf, and it'd be nice to be able to chop a carrot or two.

I got an opinel no2 keyring knife. Sans the key ring. Doesn't lock. Open its finger length. So light not worth weighing. Rarely used but last trip got used to cut thread & cord. Never have food that needs cutting on a weekend trip.

The Spyderco Bug (shown in photos with hand and paperclip) has a blade length about the same as SAK Classic, 32mm (29mm edge length).

Likely too small for your needs...

So you guys with the tiny knives, I take it this is all you carry - you don't go all Crocodile Dundee on the sly? Maybe I'd get used to the size of something like the Ladybug.
The blade on my SAK is a nice size at around 6cm (just don't need the other implements) though I reckon 5cm might be OK too. The Opinels are pretty light actually and cheap too.
Whatever I go for, do you reckon carbon or steel - I'm not about to start carrying a sharpener.
