Seam ripping costco quilt

Afternoon,
Ive been thinking about seam ripping my costco quilt, i was wondering if there is anything that i should be aware of before i do it? Just to make sure, it’s the seams that run across the short side that i remove and not the long side?

Will watch this thread with interest, even though I just ordered an ice flame quilt from Ali. Been thinking about getting one of these after seeing what folks over the pond do with them.

I cut either side of the threads going longwise and pull out each 5 inch section. But sometimes you will get a seam which is less cooperative, and end up cutting it into shorter bits to get it to pull out. If you are constantly getting issues, turn the throw over and try cutting and pulling on the other side of the seam.

Thanks Gadget, i'll give it a go and see what happens!! If i make a hames then at least it was a cheap quilt.
