Big fan since the first models Flyrocs 310 and Terrocs330 ....I just wish they would bring them back for us wide footed dwellers. Also they need to sort out
their upper mesh fabrics as they are just to fragile...its a shame spending that much only to see sole outlast uppers...honestly can't see the point in offering those to military if they fall apart easy

I got on very well with the Roclite 280's before my foot issues. The 295's were ok but not as comfy for me. Something like the 280's but slightly wider would be worth a try again for me.

i had the opposite happen to me with the terraultra 260 (grip) the soles lost it after only 250 miles while the uppers look hardly touched
made me wonder if they used a really soft rubber so the graphine ones would look soo much better.
totally agree with the wide toe box across the range.. i think they only have a couple at their '5' rating at present.
as i told one of their designers they are missing out on a massive hiker market.. gtx & quasi-booties are useless to long distance walkers

I just saw this post on BPL* (is Geoff Caplan on this forum?):
I live near (Inov8's) offices, and dropped into their factory store the other day. Apparently they’ve decided to pay more attention to the walking market and there are new models on the way. No announcements yet, but they hinted they are based on the old Roclite, which is much mourned in certain circles. So you might want to keep your eyes open.
Good news for me as I managed to shear off 50% of the lugs from my final pair of Roclite 295s (the special order beigy-brown ones that somebody posted about a few years ago).

*The subsequent post was from our very own Mole.

🤞They'll bring out a non gtx version too

The uppers are like new, which is not surprising since they've only done 250km. I'm particularly hard on sole units for some reason (and so is our terrain) but these have gone especially quickly. It's not just wear; the lugs have separated from the rest of the sole.
It may just be my imagination, but I don't find them as grippy on rock as the originals. Very comfortable. though.

I no longer remember why, but I always went for the Terrocs and Roclite 295s rather than the Flyrocs. Didn't they use a different last or something?

Exactly the same last and upper design as the Terrocs but a different sole unit.

Whereas Roclite 295s were quite different from Terrocs in most respects apart from fit. ( I still have 4 pairs of Terrocs and 2 Roclite 295 in various states of decay ).

Soles after 14 days' use, 270km:

Wow. That's a lot of wear!
Are you walking on rough rock all the time?

After I did the Pennine Way ,(450+km 17 days) in my similar pair, there was a fraction of the wear of that. So much so, that they didn't really look that well used.

Been scree running a lot? Either that or “pick your feet up, when you walk lad“ 😁
There was a little bit - maybe 20 minutes.

The karstic limestone here is tough on the soles, but I haven't had others trashed quite as much and as quickly. And the first three days of the last trip were relatively soft.
Pity as they were very comfortable and Bozena and I had matching hers and his pairs :)

Coincidentally, I only discovered the INOV8 Roclite series, with their Graphene infused soles, just this morning, when looking for bargains in the Sale section of UOG. They still have some G-370's in small sizes (8 and 8.5) for £114.99...Too small for me though.
I did a google search afterwards and found they are now about two generations of Roclite along, with each being several tens of grams lighter than the generation before it.
Then I found a news article on INOV8's website where a guy called James Forrest beat the unsupported record for walking all 214 Lake District Wainwrights peaks, in a single pair of G-345's.
He covered the 328 miles in 14 days and 11 hours, and he didn't seem to have any bad things to say about the 345's afterwards, so they must have been pretty good:

The guy's a walking billboard for Inov8 and other companies. This month's TGO or Trail magazine (I forget which) has yet another advertorial with him adventuring out with gear almost all exclusively supplied by one gear company. I'd take anything he says (particularly in regards to Inov8) with a very large pinch of salt.

I've still got two pairs of the brown 295 to go through. The uppers of the original were very short lived for me. I use pu glue to reinforce where they fail. Great hot weather shoe imho as they breathe so well. My favourite is still probably g275 for summer 315 for winter. Two sizes up and with two footbeds in.
