Zzzzleeping Systems Snooze & Updates

Just a note

For most of last yr i had been using the bladder from a flextail pillow till it broke, so replaced it with another, and noted in this thread how it seemed cheaper,

Well this last weekend, second use it failed, the non return valve blew into the pillow, not a major issue and fixable, but when you go to remove a bit of air mid sleep then end up having to turn the light on sit up to mend it, it did interrupt sleep,

So for this i cant recommend it

Ive just ordered a nemo fillow Elite, with the view to using the bladder from that.

It must be so fun working at cumulus

A marginal performance improvement over the Flextail Zero, but the CF body may be more user friendly in winter!

Looks very similar to the Flextail Zero, performance more or less the same, and weight difference is very marginal. I couldn't find a price listed.
The only time the listed weight (w/o battery) might be relevant is if you use the same battery for a headtorch or something else

Not at all sure about this Nitecore pump - no battery included nor charging capability.

Also, Cr123 size batteries no longer so widely used, would have been better if AA. However....

Suspect v2 will appear in due course with an inbuilt battery & usb c charge port.

The Flextail Zero has the same layout / battery etc and requires the battery to be charged separately (my battery has a USB port for charging directly rather than needing a charger).

While a built in battery might save a little weight, or addition of a USB port make charging more convenient, still of all the pumps I have used the Flextail Zero is my favourite. Small, light and nicely engineered (and I expect the Nitecore to be similar). It does seem odd that they chose to include a removable battery, but I guess some people like to carry spares or use the same battery for a torch etc, and an expired battery can always be replaced rather than the device. Swings and roundabouts I guess.

A lot of people have had bags made by this guy in the last year or so on the Swedish UL fb page. Now they have a website! I've not seen anything but positive comments from people.

Just looked at Cumulus new website.

Looks like they have switched from offering Quilt 250 and 350 to just a 300. And also added a Quilt 600!

And a new closed footbox "neo" range

There's also a 10% discount at the moment. Assuming the Neo 300 works as well as the spec sheet looks then it will be a good step up from the 250 for 3-season use where a frost can occur. 300g of 900 FP down rather than 250g of 850; no wasted weight in the footbox, narrower fit on the bottom half and shorter overall. Hopefully they added reinforcing where the quilt attaches to the pad straps: I tore my 250 there and that was the 29g/m² Pertex while the Neo has presumably weaker 19g/m² fabric.
