Yep, a lot of lowland hiking is like that. They are mostly good to OK, but then you get a pig of of a stretch of route normally 2km from your destination that adds another 90 minutes to the day as you avoid cows, brambles and farmers.

I want to walk the Derbyshire Portway but will only do it with a tarp and bivvy bag, as stealth camping in lowland is mainly woodland, or the edge of it.

Watched first 30 mins. Tough! Reminds you how hard the landscape was before man. I’ll watch it in 30 min chunks.
Yeah that guy does crazy long expeditions. He recently did a year long expedition around some remote part of Canada I think. It aired on some Canadian TV channel but no idea where one can find it
