When wet I use a ULA rain kilt from the US. Great piece of kit doubles up as small ground sheet in my tent vestibule to keep gear off the grass; before that did go with a modified bin liner skirt.
I'd say my rain kilt is probably my most Used piece of kit... Even used for going to shops, walking to work when I'm wearing shorts in the rain, used for warmth as a wind breaker... And like You, a ground cloth.
I used to have a cracking home made one from a blue bin liner... T'wer very fetching 😂

Ahem, 13g including the case 🤓

These have been around for a while and quite a few on here use them.

I found they break across the nose section 'relatively' quickly and switched to Thinoptics which seem more robust.

I'd be curious how much of a difference that makes over a long subzero night. Personally never had an issue putting them in my down jacket pocket in the sleeping bag with me.

Having your electrical gadgets (phone, gps, powerbank, etc) solely inside an insulated pouch overnight doesn’t make any thermodynamic sense as there’s no source of heat to replace that ‘leaking’ to the environment (e.g. power usage of phone etc is a few milli-Watts), the insulated pouch will only slow the cooling process a little.
What is important is to place the items inside the sleeping bag, your body heat keeps them warm, it doesn’t make any difference whether it’s an insulated pouch or in a plastic bag the result is the same; if in doubt try placing your phone in said pouch & putting it in the freezer for a few hours; IMO unless you have a dual use save your ££’s.

Anyone heard of these before - Bach

A lot of the designs and names of the rucksacks and tents look familiar e.g Wicki Up

ULOG are now supplying them
I first came across the brand on Alpinetrek when looking for a cargo bag to put a rucksack in for flights. They do an interesting looking one that can double as a rain cover.
