What's in your wash kit?

Its meant to be applied with your finger tips, it comes in a pot, and the one I mentioned is pleasant stuff, so you can rub the remains into your hands or onto your clothes (help with the waterproofing?).

I use daily after showering and then eat breakfast with no lingering smell or taste.

I use the little contact-lens pots (the old version with the filter taken out) for some of my stuff, toothpaste, sudocreme, sun-cream etc. Also a small towel (decathlon), half a blue/white kitchen cleaning cloth as a flannel. Shower gel in a little squidgy bottle (25ml?).

That is the only Tea I drink...It doesn't taste of Original Old Spice though, and using the DIY Deo stick means it doesn't have to.

But you generally don't have a daily shower out on the trail...The DIY Deo stick can be used anytime, anywhere.

Little bottle of Dr B's soap or hand san.
A small piece of trek towel that triples up as a tarp wipe and pot rag.

Separately I'll have a small tube of sun cream, a glycerine lipstick and a can of smidge.
Toilet paper and a small bottle of hand sanitizer.
On longer trips I've been known to take some travel wash sashays for washing cloths.

Owen, you can save some weight by using a Lypsyl SPF 50 Lip balm stick as both your lip balm and your sun cream. That's what I use. It only weighs 10g, much lighter than a tube of sun cream.

I Get @Shewie to carry the sunscreen & aftersun... At least some of the way (I'll always appreciate that day )

I did the DIY deodorant chap stick once about 10 years ago. And that was actually the defining moment where I quit going 'stoopid light'. In the middle of nowhere doing my pits with this tiny lip salv thing I'd made, I just thought "what the fck are you doing you daft to$$er". and had serious words with myself. Since that time I just went light but not daft. Nowt wrong with a nearly used up roll-on to save a bit of weight if needed.

HYOH btw, each to their own etc (no cast aspersions here). It was just my own defining moment. I even went from a 5 pack of teeny tiny wipes, to a proper pack of wipes so I could get a reyt wesh.

Taking deodorant of any descrption on a hike has never crossed my mind, or a bar of soap for that matter. A tiny tube of liquid soap for hands every few days is ample, I just wash my hands in a burn with a handful of gravel/sand if necessary.

I'm probably lucky in that I'm not a smelly sweater, unless you made me wear a football top for an hour. I often pass folk at the fitba wearing them and the smell gives me the boak, horrible material.

While hiking a quick dicht in a burn will do me.

I thought about the lip salve deodorant thing, but decided it was too fiddly. Instead I use little 15ml containers to melt the deodorant from a bigger stick in - this sort of thing:

It works, and is less bulky than the "travel" size deodorants (which don't seem to be that much smaller than the regular ones - I've only really found aerosols, which are fairly bulky, and a 25ml Nivea roll-on in a heavy glass bottle!).

I tried some of THESE peppermint toothpaste tabs during my last outing, I can't say I'm overwhelmed & won't be replacing my day to day toothpaste, but they do the job, it's easy to just pack enough for the trip & at £5.99 for 125 they're not expensive.
