My brother who is not really that into the outdoors went mad with his credit card when we visited the Gaynor's shop in the lakes. I could see the buyer's remorse written over his face when driving home![]()

That was fast on the chest rig. It only went live last night.
Don’t store that compass next to the phone long term or you will be doing a 180° before long!
I’m curious about these shoes. Saw them on Sportpursuit but not sure how wide a fitting they are. I’m using Altras but I’m not sure my old feet are living with the ‘zero drop’ very well
The Hill and High Street chest pack looks very nice indeed. Very tempting, but I don't think it would quite work with the packs I use.
They're wide, straight toe. Depending on the model, can be not so wide in the midfoot. Non plastic heel helps the shoe hold and mould to the heel.I’m curious about these shoes. It’s the hiking bit that interests me. I’m using Olympus 5 shoes and boots. I really need a wide fitting just for comfortThey're wide, straight toe. Depending on the model, can be not so wide in the midfoot. Non plastic heel helps the shoe hold and mould to the heel.
Grip wise... Fierce.
On some models, they require a few miles breaking in for best fit.

I'm on the cusp of adding a 3rd variant for hiking and ultra distances... That would be the Icebug 'outrun'
At least with Sportshoes you can send them back.
Sizing wise, I've gone for 12, in inov8 etc I'm 11.5
And regular shoes boots, 10.5/11
Basefresh works, but adds a touch of "perfume", which I don't particularly like.
Mirazyme works and is odorless. It looks expensive, but you only use a few drops.
