Don't expect much though as I highly doubt I will be completing it but will give it a good go and try and take my time. After 3 years of no walking/camping and even worse shape than last time I just decided to chuck myself in at deep end and do a multi-day hike and challenge myself.
Don't rush it and you'll be fine, you'll soon find your rhytm.

Did you decide whether to take the midge jacket?

I'm still undecided. After seeing Collins video I'm regretting removing it from list. The jacket would be rally good to walk about camp area with just my thin top on or sat outside of pub but at same time I suppose I could just wear head net, combind with rain jacket etc so the Beatons jacket may be extra uneeded weight? :banghead:

Have a good one Adz.

Look after your feet - don't pound it the first couple of days - you've plenty of time and those tracks are hard . Preemptive taped over compeeds work for me on my softspots for the first couple of days of a longer trip after time off. And also, keep well fed and watered, and you should be fine.

Thanks bud. I appreciate it.

I'm booked in to Drymen campsite on day 1 and it looks pretty flat all way there. I'll most certainly be taking my time, I'm planning on doing max of 10-14 miles a day.

I'v only ever from memory had blisters in one area of foot but this will be my first extended trip so I'm unsur where I would preempt. I think for first day I'm going to use bit of foot balm on some areas combined with Injinjii socks just to test out and if I start getting any hot spots I will know where I should tape up. Do you think just taping up in advance would be better option for me?

It's looking really dry on route from recent videos and posts so I think I will be topping up water at every opportunity just in case as I tend to drink a lot. I'll likely be stopping for a bite to eat in every village as well as snacking on route.

My wildo cup will come along on my next and final pw trip, it's been on the other trips and I like it.
Used a thin takeaway rice pot last time which was nice n light but flimsy. The wildo is pretty tough.

Yes fill up as and when, I still forget then pay the price. Bog water is not nice.

Yeah the cups are decent however it is surplus if I'm using the VIA sachets as I can chuck them straight into the Ti pot with the water. The Wildo cup was for sitting the coffee drip on and filtering coffee into.

Just done a pack test. Bit of a squeeze in the Sub-Nero but happy with result. Got everything on list packed and feels comfy to wear.

Was simple enough to attach the Tread-Lite Chest pack to it but I may after trip replace the bottom hooks with buckles like the top attachments have. Makes more sense to have buckles and will make taking pack of much easier. For now leaving one side of bottom un-hooked. That way I only need to unbuckle one side and can take pack off without unhooking bottom.

Anker PowerCore Essential 20,000 PD

Decided to downsize to the 20Kmah/18W chargable PD version (345g). The 26kmah charges in half the time but is nearly double the weight (595g) plus the charge plug (141g) is more than double weight of my 18W charger (60g). Just trying to shave some more weight from pack before trip. The 20K version takes 6.8 hours to charge so if I stick it on for an hour here and there when stopping at pubs, restuarants or cafes etc I should be fine. I'm suposed to be stopping at an Inn on day 4 (Was supposd to be day 5 but I fkd up the booking) so if I make it to there I can stick on and fully charge.

The missus picked up one of these on Amazon's 'prime day' deal for £27 and I took it to the Lakes. It had no problem keeping my Galaxy S8 with OSmaps nav going for four days and I made a few calls a day and took loads of photos with the phone too. It still had nearly half a charge when I got to Threlkeld. It does take around 10 hours to fully charge on a normal phone charger though.
