Wanted Trekkertent Drift 1 or similar

Are you looking for a rarer brand/model shelter in particular?

Drift has 2 poles so:

Lanshan 2?

Stratospire 1

Xmid1p (recent eBay prices seem to have calmed down a little)

Notch even.

Pretents Soloist has one pole so:

Numerous other solo mids can be used with a separate inner?

Think @MattK had a Soloist for a while but sold it on due to lack of room.

Not green
And I don't want a face full of nylon

Apart from rarity, I wouldn't think a Drift or Soloist will be cheap, even secondhand? They are pricey to start with.

Cheapest (apart from the more rubbish Ali stuff) would be:

Asta mid. (Mate who is 6' uses one)

Lanshan 1 (the larger 2021 version)
Lanshan 2 (ditto)

Dunno what that Knot solo shelter is like but think @Rog Tallbloke has one

If the 'not want a face full of nylon' is important, an offset pole design (eg Stratospire, XMid, High Route) will help make the end walls more steep, or struts (Notch, Stratospire etc). The Drift has relatively shallow end walls so you may have limited clearance at the ends (as with mids, unless fairly large). I happily used mids for some time but have come to appreciate the headroom at the ends of the tent with other designs.

Good point. Agree.

Why I use Tarptents or the XMid and always ended up selling on all the 1P mids I have tried (MLD Solomid,SolomidXL(old version), Cricket, Asta Mid and SMD Gatewood Cape).

The newer longer versions of MLD mids will help mitigate this somewhat I guess. Maybe the new longer Lanshans too.

i'm even considering a SD High side 1.
My needs are for 1 or 2 nights max. Remote, 3 season (Scottish) small pack size and much lighter than my Lightwave.

What weight is the Lightwave?

That High Side looks like a weighty coffin - only 80 cm high inside at peak? 😬

Think I'd rather have a Lanshan or even better the High Route3000. At least can sit up. Though I guess not as secure in a hoolie.

Maybe the lanshan 2, haven't got 1 but for 3 season light use it may be what you're looking for, but I think they are a tad over a kilo, and the lanshan 2 comes taped, but the 2 pro doesn't as it's silicone coated both sides.
