I've DIY-ed a few gear fixes myself – duct tape is my best friend. Also, found this local repair service that saved my favorite backpack from the brink of doom.
My current pair of LP6 sneakers got a large hole from a walk on scoria slopes and my new pair are 18,000km away, so with a big needle I sewed it up back up with dental floss, like a through-hiker would Despite some skepticism the repair held up just fine through the next ~50km mountain/river walk.

What is it made of? I'd be careful if it is aluminium as that might melt under extreme heat (when there is a pot on top of the stove). For example, Trail Designs make both aluminium and titanium cones for alcohol / esbit, but only the titanium ones can be used for wood burning as they won't handle the heat.1g windshield mod - will it work?
I haven’t tested it properly yet, but it locks securely into place by the pot support arms on the Soto Amicus stove.
It’s thick aluminium, from an old windshield that I had. It seems to work okay for a quick boil, but I did wonder about it’s melting pointWhat is it made of? I saw some one do something similar but I think they had a bigger gap- Is the gap between the top of your screen and the bottom of the pot only a couple of mm? Wouldn't it got very hot in there? Will really focus/narrow the flame wont it?1g windshield mod - will it work?

Yeah, it’s just a few mm. I will probably scrap this idea and move on to plan BI saw some one do something similar but I think they had a bigger gap- Is the gap between the top of your screen and the bottom of the pot only a couple of mm? Sorry looking on phone a bit hard to see.

Thanks. And so many colours to choose from! Though with €9 shipping on a €13 purchase, I'll probably look for a UK retailer.Spinnaker repair tape would work well. Single or double sided repair as it’s self adhesive it makes a good repair.
We can’t have Phreeranger’s exhibiting bad repairs

Nice work with the Gutterman.Had these several years without losing or misplacing them so they deserved to be repaired. Many holes sewn up. Tedious but satisfying while watching a 70's Charles Bronson movie.
