I think I may have overdone it with nikwax on the Outdry gloves (wierd combination, I know, but the water wasn't beading like it used to). The ride on the day before yesterday, I found em to be watertight but not as breathable. Came home and condensation inside the gloves was (much) more than usual (usually they'd be relatively dry).

Now I'm think I maybe need to give em another wash to reduce the water tightness 😆

I rescued a Hobo tent from being tipped by the previous owner. It had been stored in a damp cellar for years and the inside of the flysheet was covered in white mold, quite heavy in parts. There was no such mold on the ground sheet even though this was a PU coated nylon as well.
I first washed down with a 50:50 white vinegar solution, then soaked for 30 minutes, then when dry I pitched it inside out and coated it with McNett PU.
Looking better now but needs a second coat of PU and a outer coat of DWR.

My Evernew 2l water container split (delaminated plastic) and I replaced it with the Platypus equivalent. I like the lid retainer and elastic for holding the Evernew rolled for compact storage.

It is possible to transfer the elastic to the Platypus, but the Evernew lid does not fit. However, a Cnoc retained lid does seem to fit BUT needs a little more care to ensure it seals properly. I trust the Platypus lid more if I'm going to put the container in my sleeping bag in winter to prevent freezing!

Thermarest eVent drybags. x2 of, both worn through from tyre scrub from snow/slush road riding. Clearance from the handbar harness wasn't the best and I didn't think to stop and check.

At least I've now figured out what the grit inside the bags was (frozen tarmac as I have remnants of the bitumen inside the bags!).

Tuff tape (is being) used.

The first patch just came right off. Must've been me touching with fingertips (maybe) during removal from the backing. Tried again and it's stuck, so after doing both sides I've popped a little container of boiling water over. Hopefully it'll help it all adhere.

8L eVent dry bag, now with a 1 pair (either side) of patches.

Next comes the 13L eVent bag. Already has a patch at the bottom eEvent section. Hole is rather large. But, after doing the other and rhe hot water trick. I think I'm a pro 🤔

Ok. So, a bit of a plot twist. Looks like the 9 year old mouse has been in the Tuff Tape. Seems he'd carefully twisted/rolled it inwards so as not to draw attention to the shenanigans (he's the 'every sticky tape finisher' and been told previously to never touch my tapes again 😆).

So, a few more design/repair notes. The backing I'd removed from the first patch is then used for subsequent patches to ensure the middle bit doesn't stick to the opposite side of the bag. Hopefully that makes sense.

If it doesn't work, I'll have to get the iron out and use the goretex type patch repair (I assume it would stick to this material, hopefully).

Made a table , already have a cascade table. But I just like tinkering and making stuff. So had some corex in garage and fixed it to a Orikaso folding plate. Thought it could be dual purpose table / upside down a chopping board or plate/shallow bowl. Fits flat in pack and weighs 86grams, I know a bit heavier than cascade but seems a lot lot sturdier and firmer and not as flimsy. Probably won't use as don't take cascade that much lol. Just stuck in bored with a in growing toenail and stuck wearing flip flops lol.

Fence post snapped damaged the composite decking and about 5 of the composite fence panels.

The posts were the original, I fitted the panels last summer, the post has rotted at the base,

Mines same, I live on outskirts of Manchester. Was pretty rough weather wise up here. I spent yesterday trying to bodge panels so dogs can't get out of garden.

Stripped down my cheap Molle EDC pack, not to drop the weight, but to get rid of extra bits I haven't used. I use this when I run errands & do shopping.

I've been looking for a simple, heavy duty EDC 40-45l pack, but haven't found one I like.

Has anyone made any heavy duty packs?

I'd like a one which is freestanding, so it'd prob need 1cm CCF pack panel & bottom panel sewn in. Bottle pockets & front pocket, otherwise a bit like Zpacks Bagger, but bigger & stronger. I've been trying to find a pattern/instructions but most of them are either UL packs or canvas bushcraft packs. Any links or experiences?
