The "what have you made today" thread

... My mind rejoices.
Anyways, the point is, I want to make notes, work on ideas and just have something for my hands to do it necessary. Usually I just have sheets of paper and whichever pens I've thrown in the bag, but that gets messy really wick. ...
This Idea is as great as simple and it's solving a problem I often have during business trips ...
I think I'll sew one too... with a few minor adjustments. :)

One obvious flaw in mine is having the stiff section first/inside. Works much better with the stiff section on the outside.
Was just about to move the elastic yesterday, but ran out of threaded bobbins, and the bobbin winder decided it was birds' nest day.

EDIT: Fixed the bobbin winder (or rather, figured out what I was doing wrong ). Started to wind a stack of bobbins, then ran out of thread 🤣😭
This is the second time I'm spending an evening at home with a sewing project, and no thread to sew it with. Just ordered 10 spools of tera 40, that should keep me going for a while. Quite annoying too, need a rain kilt for this weekend. Probably will have to endure **** wet pants instead.

@Johnny3000 Very nice! Been about 15 years since we had enough snow to scrape one together at home. Nowhere near as nice as yours.

That looks great, I like the window!

I used a mould/tool for mine to make it easier, but also had to do a lot of scraping as we didn't have much snow at the time.

This one has approx. 2m interior diameter, fastest I've done it was about 4 hours alone. This year it took longer as it was colder and the snow needed more time to settle. I also made a small mistake and the top turned out a bit asymmetrical. For bigger sizes you'd need 2 persons to do the upper part and to handle the snow logistics while the other one holds and fills the mould.

I used an Icebox Igloo maker tool, got it 2nd hand a few years ago.

Edit: Detaiiled instructions how the Icebox tool works:
