I've seen them advertised on social media by the guy who made them but not heard what they are like, I know they have just recently kicked off the website you linked too, saw it advertised on another forum.

All the meals are between 400 and 500kcals, which is quite low. I like something around 800kcals.
I’d like to eat that amount but I just can‘t, I lose my appetite and it’s an effort to get 500kcals in. The next time I go out I’ll decant to a small tub of peanut butter and eat that straight off the spoon.

I know what you mean, I always lose weight on trips. Not so much of a problem if I'm just away for a weekend or so, but I like doing longer trips of 2, 3 or 4 weeks. Daily energy output can be quite high, maybe 3500 to 4000kcals. The most I can eat is in the region of 1500 to 1800kcals per day. Especially when the main thing for dinner is freeze dry "cr*p in a packet. It might keep you going for a bit, but it's just not the real thing.

Hi I am the owner of the website that is linked.
We stock Greg's meals but he isn't affiliated with us, he makes some tasty meals though I must say.
I find the calories to be sufficient and they are in line with all the competition (wayfayrer, firepot etc.).

I understand that some might want a much bigger portion (I'm at 27 year old growing boy :)), in that case just eat two of them.
Right now Greg's meals are one of the cheapest on the market but also one of the most natural. I know I sell them so my thoughts are obviously biased but what can't be denied is the simplicity of the ingredients list. You know as soon as you try the Bolognese that it's the real deal when full long strands of linguini are presented in the packet.

I agree though, nothing beats homemade food but these, in my eyes, come about as close as you can get. I'm not in a position to be spending £4 per meal on 5 day trips (starting a business isn't easy on the wallet), so I like to dehydrate my own meals at home and I will take store bought meals as well just for the simplicity.

None of the ingredients are freeze dried might I add. The recipes just contain dry foods with no fats that spoil easily.
So honestly if you try them I'd love to know your opinions and I'll feed the responses back to Greg, he's a top bloke and will be well onboard to make changes wherever necessary .

Anyway, I've creeped around these forums for a couple of years, now I guess I'm here to stay. Happy to be part of the community, I hope I cleared up some of the questions you had.

I might order some to try. Good to see some non meat meals and the price seems good. Calories wise I prefer to eat the calories during the day when I am working and prefer a larger breakfast to a larger tea.

Edit. Ordered three meals to test. Will review on here when I have eaten some.

Thanks Nigel I've sent the order out. I hope you enjoy them, let us know what you think.

We've rebranded as RambleLite, "Wildcamping Gear UK" was a bit of a nightmare to get a good google ranking with.
I hope everyone who has received their orders is happy. I've had a lot of custom come through the forum and I greatly appreciate it.
