Not sure but they seem to just "brand up" other manufactures items
I think you may be misreading their webpage. I take it to mean that Acumen is the manufacturer making jackets for Crux to Crux's specifications using Pajak's down. I'm unaware of the same jackets as the Crux ones available elsewhere.
Yes, I specified my last bag and they were super helpful.
You can tell the amount of down in the bags from their name. But I'm unaware of anyone finding out the amount of fill in a jacket.
everyone on here is *obsessed* with price...the *cost* of an item
I don't believe that I'm obsessed with price, but I do like to know what I'm getting for my money.

Maybe..it isn't very clear...but the line

There are few things that ODL/crux has any real control over

Is quite interesting - doesn't scream "to our specifications" to me....From a little reading now it seems like some of the new stuff might be manufactured entirely in Europe...but again I am not sure (don't quote me!).

Apologies, I really shouldn't have said everyone...FWIW I also like to know what I'm getting for my money too...who made it, where, what their general standard of living is, etc - it is why I've stopped buying anything AliExpress, etc - it just feels bad because the item/product isn't the only thing you are getting for your money...the entire production process is in some sense what you are paying for.

I suppose that is where we started. Someone saying "The high price can't be justified"

...but If something is a lot cheaper, with the same materials - and shipped half way around the world...do you think the person who manufactured it was paid a fair wage? What if they didn't have access to health care, a pension, had unsafe working conditions, etc? Is that still a good deal?

It becomes a game of outsourcing oppression for cheap(er) goods.

Again - not to get into a huge debate....I really think I should just keep my mouth shut 😶

I took that to be referring to their control over factory conditions, etc., rather than control over their products, though it's not clear.
Take a look at the Crux and Lightwave (same company) backpacks and tents; they're definitely unique to the country.
