The credit bundles in VR seem to be getting less.
I was downloading some tiles today & just had enough credit for the area I was looking at. But when I went to look somewhere else it only gave me the option of buying a €2.99 bundle, for either around 130 credits or around 180, can't remember sorry.
I haven't linked my account with OA, & don't think I will until I've no choice.

I've always accessed my VR maps via an app on my phone / tablet / iPad - should I be able to see / use the maps on my MacBook / laptop through viewranger.com???

TopoGPS has OS map subscription and only at 1:25k so no annoying autoscaling. VR used to auto scale maps also if you had purchased the two scales.
I’ve stopped using VR or OA. They annoyed me and I’m happy to use TopoGPS and take the lose of maps and credits I had on VR on the chin and move to another platform.

Hover over routes and tracks on the top bar to get the drop down menu, click on view maps on the drop down. This will open the page to a world map, on the top right hand of the map there should be another two drop down menus, top 1 that reads auto and another below which reads route generation: off (at least they do in mine). Click on the top that reads auto, then click on either the first which reads premium maps or the one below which reads ordnance survey GB and zoom into area wanted on the map to see which of the 2 mentioned works for you. The second works for me as I have tiles not maps, don't really know about the first.

    Which one VR or OA?
I'll be using VR hopefully later in the week to record, so hoping you are on about OA

OA, i started it off as we left the car and when I checked about an hour later and I got the splash screen.

I tried again and kept and eye, it worked for about a few miles and then crashed again.

iPhone 11 Pro although I’ve had the same happen with my P20 Pro.

There were three of us there with both VR and OA and only one of us had working VR app. I had a look at the updated OS app on Saturday evening and although it’s basic it seems to work so I am going to scrap OA and try OS for a while.

    So...

Now that I've logged into OutdoorActive via my VR account they've emailed me to say:

"As a ViewRanger explorer you have been given free access to an Outdooractive Pro+ subscription" and suddenly Ive got lots of free maps with a year's subscription - is this normal?

When viewing OS maps through Outdooractive (online) North isn't aligned with OS Grid North - i.e the map is on the **** - can this be reset or adjusted?

The map being on a slight slant really bugged me. You can kinda turn it but mine snapped back to the slant.

Having unthinkingly/lemming like, signed up to OA when they first told me to, I now can't use functions on VR without being told that I am 'leaving' the page. Can still see VR App on my phone though but probably can't modify routes on the computer in order to sync them over. On the upside, Topo map of France with my original GPX seems to work. Haven't tried the Spanish side yet.

(still absolutely furious, just in case anyone thinks I've mellowed)

It all works for me on both platforms and online.
Which will offer you little comfort...
I use other apps now anyway...
Thinking of returning myself again this year... we shall see..

That was a recent discovery for me too.... The nav arrow to a. Set poi or distance as crow flies as I move the crosshair has been a real gem too... Made me a bit paper map lazy though

I’ve moved over to TopoGPS completely now. That works fine. VR was/is fine on my iphone but for how long I’m not sure.

If anyone wants to discuss issues with the service/developers. You could try this address; service@outdooractive.com

They are interested in crashes, freezing issues, wonky and fuzzy maps as well as anything you feel is missing from the new app that VR had.

Odd considering it’s the VR developers who now work on the OA app don’t know what’s missing or different from VR app!

What's this function, is it something you can do on the move to see a distance to a point?
This is very true for me too, I find I grab the phone move often than not now when having to check for a route.
