I do sometimes. I assume you're only considering it for boiling water, in which case it works well - though I use it with a Speedster burner, which I think suits a Keg better than the 12:10 burner.Does anybody use the Calder keg set up? Any good?

The problem is packing it since it need a lot more protection than more robust systems.
Earlier in the thread, I posted our choices (including the Keg). They all include two drinking mugs of some sort, in addition to the mug/pot for boiling water. Thanks William. That had crossed my mind the more I thought about it. Yes I am thinking of boiling water only. I'm looking at a smaller set up for summer weekenders. Other than alu pots I've only ever used a titan 850L but I find a bit bulky at times and don't need that volume, certainly not in summer. I don't want to baby my pot nor have to use the caddy, so probably will look else where..
I think the keg ( or any beer can set up) is an example of old school SUL ingenuity, but is really in the realms of "stupid light" due to the ease of denting. Especially when there are now plenty of more compact titanium options almost as light. Thanks William. That had crossed my mind the more I thought about it. Yes I am thinking of boiling water only. Oh the ev 570 mole. See it has a special lid you can buy, but quite expensive set up if you buy both. No doubt I will buy pot first and drag my feet buying cone, will probably try some DIY stuff first. Efficiency is not really important for what I do.
It may be more complex than one genuine and one easily distinguishable fake. For example, there is mention on BPL of a fake which is lighter than the genuine stove.
This has come up on many BPL threads, but this thread is a good place to start. It may be more information than many will be bothered with, but page 5 of the thread could be a useful short cut.
@Rmr there is mention on another BPL thread of sputtering caused by dirt under the jet of the stove.
Were you wanting Titanium or Aluminium?Hello,
can anyone give me some advice?
I wanted to buy a stormin cone for my Toaks 650 ml, but, as you all know by now, it is not possible anymore.
Is there anyone who could make these? Is it possible to buy something simillar in UK/EU?
Thank you!
If you decide against making a cone I'd recommend going to Trail Designs, who developed the Caldera Cone / Sidewinder etc. I know they are based in the US, but they are very helpful and have a high quality productHello,
can anyone give me some advice?

You could give HMG in France a shout as they sell Caldera cones although stocks are low and they only have cones for the Toaks 550 at the moment (if you search for Trail Designs you can find Sidewinder and Ti-Tri + Inferno but they are also out of stock).Hello,
