What is less known also in Sweden is that the mining company LKAB is actually moving another town as well. Malmberget has now grown together with Gällivare, a mining town that is where you take the bus towards the wilderness if you enter Sarek national park from the north. The pictures gives a clue on why they are moving the town. Malmberget is an underground mine so the hole in the ground is un unintentional even though affected houses had been evacuated well in advance.
