Hi Robin, thanks very much. I've seen they tend to be a bit narrow, whereas I have broad feet. A shame, but it has made me look into Salomans. I've had a few of their shoes, nice.
James Forrest rated the Haglofs LIM Eco Mid highly for his WHW blast. But they look a bit low, with a not very aggressive sole? I've wandered through too many wet areas where the water is nearly over the boot calf. About 2 km in the Arctic saw the SLs tested to the limit! But not lightweight, by any means...

Salomons do the X Ultra shoes and mids in a wide fitting (seems to be only available on the Salomon website) but I’ve not seen the X Ultra Treks in a wide fitting. It’s a shame that Salomon or someone else don’t do a Lundhags style boot but based on a trail runner sole unit like the X Ultras.

I had to order several sizes of Salomon for my son to try out.
I paid by Paypal so that when I had to return the ones that didn't fit Paypal paid the return postage.

Hi Cathy, that's a good ploy. I tend to use PayPal but wasn't aware of the free postage arrangement. Will look more at Saloman boots - or any others peeps might suggest. But I have Scarpa Terras if I find nothing.
I wanted these partly for a 3 month bike trip, where we'd be walking in the mountains at times. So something light to carry in the panniers would be ideal.

You have to sign up for the return postage thing but it should be widely advertised and is easy to do.
Limited to £15 per incident and 12 per annum.
