?
I believe bread has calories.....
And fibre....

Tis interesting to see the weights.
Last 8 day no resupply trip I did my pack was 10kg....I was more spartan in those days.

The last 8 night trip that we did, we had a little under 7kg, but we didn't carry anything for the first day/night as it was a very late start.
I usually aim for about one kg per day for the two of us, but we're usually looking to lose a kg or 2 from our body weight over the week.

Calorific value. It's not written no calories. The calories in a wrap are poorly converted and have very little benefit, if any to energy or recovery.
No reason to contribute to bulk if you don't intend to be in a future survival scenario or convert to a fat burner..

Wraps are like Yorkshire pudding.... There to provide short term satiated appetite and full the gap when quality isn't affordable or availble.

Anything you’d recommend instead to have with cheese and salami slices ?

Air cured wide rashers/slices of meat would be too easy to recommend. What about ryvita type crisp bread or whatever they are?
I know you can't wrap food in them, but you could load one and get some crunch, salt and moderately better calorific value from them. I can remember the appeal of a warm wrap, but couldn't go back to it.

Any chance of obtaining eggs whilst your on trail? I carry eggs in a box, but then the box is dead weight 🤦‍♂️unless I burn it as stove fuel when I've the gasifier/esbit/alcohol cone set up, with me.

I make a flat 'bread type' wrap from just eggs.
For day one I carry either scrambled egg or flat egg frozen to eat that 1st day, then a dozen eggs to cook as I please on subsequent days.
Im happy for the egg box stuffed with dried wetwipes or kitchen roll, in the top of my pack. Then I can repurpose the stuffing and burn or dispose of in a bin the egg box at some point.

You could consider making a wrap using coconut or almond if tolerable? That would give more bang for the gram...

Polar bread, Lompers, Lebanese flat bread.

I don't eat bread, but I do when I go to the Nordics. Polar bread with some Reindeer and local cheese is Thors' packfood.
Think it will last a week in my pack not expecting it be warm in Norway starting 1st sept ?

Ta. This polar bread looks good that tepee mentioned looks good. I’ll take wraps then see what we can buy as need to buy fuel there and bhp if you buy the salami or cheese there too

Yes, It's made for it. It's quite resilient bread. Once opened, it gets a little crumblier after 3 days or so but is still fresh.

They all sell wraps too and more crispbread types than you can try in a year.

Polarbrod with Gudbrandsdalen cheese and Marmite.......:drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drowning:

I only take dried veg, herbs, nuts, chocolate and condiments.... everything else is very easy to get over there and is better quality. Plus, there will be endless quantities of Berrries which will be in peak condition.

The Devil's Rusk. After a week eating them in Norway many years ago they've only just made there way back into my bait box.
Devils' Rusk. :biggrin:Their Lebanese flatbreads have seen some oral abuse. The size of a naan on steroids, they make the meanest wrap.

Your a bit late unfortunately. The cloudberry preserve comes close though, that spread on Polar bread with some smor is quite fine.

You can normally buy locally made "tunnbröd" in most supermarkets in Sweden and Norway:
