Drop/Durston Pack

I notice that no one has said they like this pack. So I’ll say it. I like this pack. I look forward to seeing the other side of it.

I’m just about to have a go at making a race pack type harness for my prototype arc blast (prototype no.3 now, cuben arrives tomorrow so all this footling around looking for perfection will end soon).

DD seems to think designs through very well so I'd expect it to be good.
It perhaps did brush past the ugly tree though...

I like the front pocket. If the zipped side pocket means you can only fit a 2L water bottle on one side, it probably won't work for me. And no air along the back would also be a negative (for my conditions).
Looks come low down my list of priorities.
@Clare, when you've perfected your personalised your Arc Blast-like pack, I'll send you my list of requirements ;)

Can you send them now so that I can nick them rather than after I’ve made it when it will be too late.

Are you sure the side pockets are zipped, I cant see that? (Ugly but functional works for me as well.)
EDIT: Found it about the zip after following a link at the linked page.

Presumably if you don’t put much in the zipped bit from the side then the top loading normal water bit remains spacious.

I don’t find it ugly. It has a sort of macho functionality to it, which is rather attractive, actually :inlove:

I clearly didn't read the description carefully; it states that the left pocket will hold a water bottle.

I like it too, my only concerns are that the front panel isn't elasticated all the way to the top, and that I might have bought a pack before this comes out.

Dan commented on that this link https://drop.com/talk/24068/a-message-from-the-designer-dan-durston:
"The picture on this page is admittedly a poor one as the pack is empty and the front pocket is apparently not fully attached. I think the picture on the main page shows a better side to it, but note that the front pocket still isn't laced quite to the top here so it looks a bit off. We will have a full range of pictures up soon."

The picture on the main page is the same picture as in the first post in this thread.

Hmm, 10 cms of taper- very nice. Like the see thru' shoulder straps as well. Worked well in the warm weather on my Talon. Seems to cover a lot of storage solutions in a reasonably elegant (but a bit weighty?) fashion.
