I left at 19 and never went back...
Arriving 'home' was always nice for a little while, then I would miss travelling again.
That ^^^ sounds very "normal" to me .

I got mentally tired after the PCT then 3 months in Patagonia...the constant need to plan: Arrive in town. Find food. Find hotel/campsite. Plan the next section. Buy resupply. Do online admin. Work out how much further the shoes will last. Get up to date meteo/permits/maps...head back to trail more tired than when arrived in town. Despite fantastic scenery and people, it became surprisingly repetitive and therefore tiring. It was nice to come home for a break. However only a year later the hard bits, and the aches and pains are forgotten and the rosy lure of being away once again appeals....
.
Time off from your time off.I found travelling that I needed to spend time "chilling" for a few days every week or 2.
I'd 'hide' up somewhere and read a book/s - so my brain could process all the new experiences I'd had.
Time off from your time off.
It's exactly this that drives my hotel stays
Actually, it is a big factor
