Is it these at £24.99 with free postage? They look a bit tatty but might be worth a punt since you can return them (again, I'll point out that Paypal will refund return postage if you sign up for that before purchasing).

IMHO, any seller guaranteeing such vintage equipment with no idea how it's been (mis)used is trying to pull a fast one.

No, it's this set

They look ok, might take a chance on them, after all, they were built to last the rigours of Army use.

EDIT: took the plunge as soon as a posted this up lol fingers crossed

One pair of Swedish snowshoes going back to Sweden.

Did you buy the last pair with cleats underneath (no longer available) or did you get a smooth one? I would think cleats to be pretty essential unless you are deep powder in which case you'd probably want more flotation.

It's just that it said Swedish-made British army snowshoes. So I checked and they appear to have been Swedish army issue too. Meaning you can expect loads of Swedish granddads telling you they used the same snowshoes back in the days. Probably followed by "God, they were crap!".;)

PS: just for reference, I'd be interested to know how much they weight.

I had the same reaction when I used some Swedish army "White Lightning" skis a few years back. Fond, rose tinted memories of their national service, quickly spoiled by recalling what they were actually like to use.
