When I was up at the Lakes I got in conversation with a gent who knew nothing of hammocks.

How do you stay dry? how do you keep warm? I told him in a nutshell but he did leave with me with.. "Happy hammocking"

I thought if he Googled it.. what would he get?

I googled hammock camping.. and i got this (of many) i thought it was terrible

Not many hammockers on here.. but focus on that triangle near the tree 😉👍

This pic was after a storm
There are quite a few hammockers on here. Unfortunately it's often not practical to hammock camp in the UK. I still have all my kit, diy hammock and fronkey bug net, multiple diy tarps, hg phoenix 20 and ugq zeppelin 0, kevlar tree straps and speed hooks or hammock anchors. I have all the good stuff. but I don't use it much at all these days. I make sure I get at least one night per year, but the past couple of years it has only been a single overnighter. Tenting is faster, lighter and cheaper with less fiddle factor. Mainly though it's just more practical where most of us camp. If i was to do the AT I'd use a hammock.
