Does anyone have any hiking related art they'd like to share? I'd love to see some. I managed to pick up a lovely original oil painting of Beinn Alligin by artist Peter Barton a couple of months ago from a charity shop for the princely sum of £4! Please excuse glare - I'm the world's worst photographer.

I also bought this watercolour in Kathmandu some years ago of a woman carrying a doko (traditional basket with a head strap), a familiar sight in the mountains.

I was gifted a pile of watercolour paintings from a Dale's artist called Sam Chadwick. They were my dad's but my mum hated them, when he passed this year she couldn't wait to get them off the wall lol.
They're not really hiking related but are of Dale's scenes I've hiked a lot over the years.

Be good to see them. Sorry to hear about your dad.

This is the piece of art I would like to buy - but many £££'s .
So I'll just have to make do with this image. I love textiles.
It particularly it reminds me of my times on Jura.

If you go to Orkney, you will love the Hoxa Gallery, Cathy.

We have three prints of tapestries created by Leila Thompson gracing our walls of our home here in Cumbria, originals way too expensive (and big) to contemplate. She really captured the spirit of Orkney. Sadly have just found out that she died in 2022.

A great thread!

An acrylic on paper illustration I did over 30 years ago of a Night-Blooming Cereus... a cactus flower that blooms only at night, and in the case of this particular Cereus, only once a year. Not especially "hiking related" but isn't any piece of nature or landscape art hiking related?
