Alpkit Cloud Cover

Any suggestions on temp range for use on its own? I have a old Vango Venom 225 - which has a comfort temp of 8, but I have taken down to 5. The Alpkit cloud seems warmer.

I use this for very warm nights. Saves using my best sleeping kit. It’s sewn through tho’.
It has the advantage of being able to move the down up over your core as has longitudinal baffles.
(Can also be used inside the Alpkit Pipedream Bags to double up warmth)
Has press studs the entire length and a cinch cord each end.
Use as a duvet or closed up
You could back up warmth by wearing down layers etc

I have got one, just not had the chance to use it yet. Was bought for me by my sister, who was very impressed with it when she used it on the GR20 in June, some nights were not particularly warm. We are wild camping in the Cairngorms next week, I will be take merino thermals and down jacket, just wondering if the Cloud quilt with do if temps are 6-8 ish

I only use mine for very balmy nights only, wouldn't even consider it for anything below 10 degrees and I'm a very warm sleeper!! You might need several layers of merino if in the gorms as it can get very chilly at night.

Thanks - sounds like it won't be a good idea.

Like I said my sister and her husband used theirs on the GR20 and were warmer than me in my sleeping bag rated to 8 degrees comfort. But having not tested myself, was feeling concerned. Was only going to think about it if the night time min temps were a bit higher than this week. There are going to be two of us and a border collie in a Nordisk Telemark, so suspect it will be warmer than me on my own :). For an extra 500g each probably not worth the hassle of being cold though
