I came across this app, Windy, after spending a week or so on a friend’s boat (she used it as her main weather info).
It’s very beautifully designed, and very detailed.
I don’t know enough about various weather data sources to know how reliably it might compare to metoffice in the UK or MeteoFrance in France (both I’ve found very good) - maybe someone else can chime in. Metoffice have quite a good app, meteofrance have a terrible app (and the website is hard to use on phones).
I don’t think it’d be a first choice for mountain forecast, but for other activities it’s got a lot of good info. EG Im cycle touring currently, I like to have a good predicted rain radar, and wind directions, to plan when I might set off in the day (if delaying an hour might save me getting soaked..) and which direction I might travel.
