Pack News - a thread for new pack talk

No, but they use DCF, which is a lot lighter and guaranteed waterproof.
1. But you quoted somebody who was talking specifically about the Ultra fabric, not DCF.
2. Ultra also claims to be waterproof. Incidentally, we've had 5 DCF packs. They don't stay waterproof forever, that's for sure.
3. Ultra 200 and DCF50 (which I think is the lighter of the 2DCF materials that Bonfus use) are said to be the same weight.
You might find this interesting.

extra 2.3lts 🤷‍♂️, osprey manage to do it
For the large I get just over 16L to the extension collar seam in the medium (where they say 28L). You do gain some volume when the pack barrels but not even close to 12L. Of course to the top of the extension collar it's 22.3L which is probably not far off the quoted 28L internal volume with quite a bit of barrelling.

Ooooh. So the question is why are the side pockets, hip belt and shoulder straps not in EPL Ultra. Because it's a prototype pack and they have those pieces already made.

Or is there a non-economic or non-prototype reason for it.

Dunno.

Is it me....or do they all look pretty much the same....?

Kings New Clothes yada yada...
These new EPL Ultra backpacks?

Yeah, it's only available in 2 colours (maybe 3, SWD might have a blue) so there's no disguising with colours that all these ultralight backpackd are pretty similar to each other.

Hang on... did I miss Bonfus saying they are already working with EPL Ultra?

I'd want an Iterus not a framed back though.

Well, as far as I know they haven't said so. But the material in the picture looks like EPL Ultra and there aren't really any other 'revolutionary new fabrics' I can think of.

Has anybody here come across Bach packs? Castleberg Outdoors Carries them. The Molecule 50 looks interesting. (Idle curiosity on my part; I'm not in the market for a new pack.)

Interestingly, they use Dyneema gridstop for the side pockets, shoulder straps, and hip belt on the Ultra 200/400 versions and not Ultra 200/400. SWD do the same thing on some of their packs.

Maybe the price? I reckon they'll add more customisation options later on.
