    Hi all,

Anyone know what type of mesh Zpacks use on their backpack stretchy front pockets? I've checked a couple of sites looking for mesh and thought that I'd ask if anyone knew specifically what it is as I need a small amount of it to carry out a repair.

    Any enlightened forumers out there?

    Cheers,
    Dave

Cheers Matt. Any idea what it is though, i.e. who makes it etc, etc?

I can recommend this mesh from extex, very durable for given weight. It may even be the same stuff since the photo is identical. Weight 102 vs 106 gsm but that could be as well an errror when measuring...

Concur with Kamov. Looks identical and very similar weight.

It's nice mesh, good compromise on weight/durability.

How much do you need? Plenty of offcuts of it in my scraps box.

Cheers Kajo, cheers Pete - been offline as I've been on holiday so sorry for the belated reply. Ideally, I'd replace a pocket on couple of packs that I have but don't want the nightmare of more holes in the DCF and the taping that would be required as a result. Most people would live with the little nicks which are no bigger than 1.5 cm but if I could successfully repair them I'd have as new packs. I'm afraid I'm oneof those precious types that tries to keep everything as well looked after as they can be and the holes bug me. I could stitch them, my mother in law has even offered to try to crochet a diamond stitch or six for me but I don't want to put her to too much trouble. I have my own ideas about how to proceed but any input would be welcome.

Thanks for the offer Pete. Do you reckon a full width strip say an inch thick would look good rather than a small square/circle?

All comments appreciated as ever guys.

    Cheers,
    Dave

Personally I'd keep the repair patches small. I have an AB and some pieces of the same extremtextil mesh - I can confirm what the guys say that visually they look the same. The extrem mesh is a bit softer in the hand and stretches more than the Zpacks mesh but that won't be an issue IMO.

Are you still offering some? I've got a rip in side pocket of my MLD Burn. 3 sq in or so is enough. I'll pay postage and packing via PayPal and include my address if all ok and you PP me the email address to send money to...
