I'm sure you'll find it completely adequate;)

With that amount, it should be easy to work out a figure of g/m to sate your weenie tendencies.

( What are you going to do with all that?:cautious:)

Hoping that you pepz can help me here please!

I ordered a few different colours of the 3mm guyline mentioned here. It arrived and I used it on my Trailstar but it feels very tight in the lineloc3s, to the point where I struggled to adjust the tension, and struggled to feed them through In the first place. It meant that my TS wasn't at taut
as I'd have liked on my last camp!

I've attached a pic (which probably won't be very useful!), comparing a few with the much thinner 2.7mm MLD supplied.

Is this normal? Or have I accidentally been sent some 4mm line as I suspect?

Just want another opinion before contacting the company.

The 3mm stuff I use ( see Ed's pic above and my links) is fine in the lineloc3s.

Is it from the same vendor? Looks like 4mm

    Yes, westwardropeandwire.

The first batch was lost in the post, this was the second.
I suspected that they were 4mm, but wasn't sure if the 3mm was measured stretched etc... since only used stock guylines previously. Hence the second opinion.

These do fit, but are very very tight and difficult to adjust. The former I'm happy with, not so much the latter!

If you want me to send you some 3mm to compare I can.

Very kind but it's ok I don't want to put you out! I'll speak to the company with some more pics to check whether it was a mistake.

@MyHatGandhi Had the same issues with the company losing my first order in the post. Did hasitate to order again but gave em second chance and they did deliver. Ordered 3mm poly and it indeed feels more robust to what came with MLD shelters ...suspect 4mm as the strands are somewhat splayed...I reckon 3mm stretched...

I had a similar problem with westward rope and wire. Ordered some 3mm yelow poly cord - never arrived. They sent it again - but it's 4mm. They said 'that's what their supplier sent them' so I asked for a refund. This was a week ago - still waiting. I'll be opening a PayPal case if I don't get it soon.

I now have a 200m reel of 3mm poly from ropeservices on eBay. So if anyone wants some at 11p/m + p&p then PM me.

Folks. I am sorry the people I recommended are messing up their orders.
I only went in a few weeks ago and got some 3mm cord in 3 colours. They had plenty. So surprised they aren't sending it out correctly.

I'll mention it next time I'm there.

I ordered at the start of the year based on Mole's recommendation. No problems with my order. I wonder how close in time frame the various missing orders were?

My order was beginning of April. Second attempt was delivered on Wednesday. I checked with them the Friday before and that's how it came about.

@Mole - No worries it happens! lots of others confirmed that all went well with the recommendation. I just want to get to the bottom of my 3/4mm dilemma!
I managed to pitch the Trailstar with them, but couldn't get it very taut which for the "white elephant" version  is a bit more of a pain in the arse.
I was impressed with the quality though.

The door was flapping like my boss on deadline day.

They've confirmed that the 4mm was sent out by mistake due to new staffing issues and are sending me replacement 3mm this week.

Thanks for the info everyone! I've never been so excited for rope.

Rope arrived today. Definitely a better size and works well with the LL3.

Very happy with them, and the weight is fantastic compared to the MLD lines. I've even cut some of them a bit longer to experiment and it's still half the weight.

Bit behind on this as I've been away and still catching up, glad to here it's been sorted

@Mole, you should be sorry  I recommended your "always sound advice" (and the cord having ordered a bunch myself).

Quite, given that he is always banging on about lineloc slippage :D

There was 0 slippage with the 4mm lines though

Slippage with the supplied 2mm cord in my Luxe Hexpeak's linelocs was woeful, as I discovered when it kept collapsing the tent in brisk winds the first time I used it on the hill. Soon had me singing off Mole's hymn sheet I can tell you.

Got my 3mm polypropylene on ebay from a seller called solatrade, £16.99 for 50m post free. Great stuff, no slippage.

Relegated/recycled the 2mm supplied cord to the mid-panel linelocs, which are less load-bearing. They slipped in use last week, so they'll get the 3mm treatment next.

I like the hexpeak cord, in fact Im using it on my trekkertent atm (the ones I replaced with longer dyneema), so I'd be happy to have some more if anyone's got some they don't need.

    Bit of a minefield this.

Hows best to treat the ends, it seems to melt funny.

Bought some from Westward and left my GF to cut longer lengths to replace the Scarp guy lines...turns out one of the lines was much shorter and she used that one as the correct length for all of them.....errrmmm no it wasn't! She cut the new length about a foot longer than the one she was measuring it off....upshot all the new ones are just the same size as the old ones!! Just pot luck she picked that one....question is why was one shorter in the first place.

And of course Westward no longer sell the yellow 3mm stuff. Might just buy a whole reel of it, 100m, as its only about £15. If I do then there be free stuff abound to you lot.
