I'm out of my depth south of the Border .....
Ewe or Broom?
Dunno...bored of looking at the map now. The whole place reminds me of Ticks and Anthrax.
I have a very similar photo from Wyvis taken 7 winter's ago to Teallach.
Sorry @tallest of pauls I thought you were joking but I see what you mean this is my phone shot in that general direction from the top of Wyvis
You are nearest.
Loch Tollaidh above Poolewe
Dont apologise, I'm not known for my seriousness... When Mole said it was x30 it does actually look very similar. Even though its probably well over 20mls away
I've added a crop. Didn't want you to think I was taking the ****.
Which summit was I pitched close to?
This one has really made me miss the hills.
For the bonus point that wins no prizes at all, name of the famous local rally driver?
I'm thinking Scotland so probably Colin McRae?
Rally driver. Errr. Dunno any.
That would be Elfyn Evans, current World Champion, who is from the area (disclosure - I just searched on Google...)
Glasgwm is correct. A fantastic part of Wales.
Evans it is too. I was thinking of Gwyndaf but I suppose his son qualifies.
On to Paul...
It is isn't it.
I did a 3 night bpack from Bala lake to Dolgellau afew winter's ago, it was my first time up Glasgwn, I was going to camp where you did but started late on the first day so didn't get past Aran Fawddwy camping below the top.
I can't put any pics up from my phone so @Robert P to go.
This is 2010, but where is my Laserlite pitched? You have an almost 360 degree panorama, so I'd like a fairly precise location. This may be too easy...
Colin McRae is from Lanark and I live 5 miles away - no it's not him or here .....
I think I can see ''the Ben" out to the NW ? .....
Yes, that is the Ben
Beinn A' Chrulaiste....ish, somewhere else entirely ?
Not quite that far north
As an aside, I think this may have been the last time I used my Alpkit pied d'elephant sleeping bag. It was very cold that night at over 900m (another clue)
So I'm thinking sunset over Rannoch Moor . Nice ridgeline. Meal Bhudie
Or if not Orchyshire..
West end of south of Glen Coe?
Yes, the sunset is looking over Rannoch Moor. If you look at the photo with the tent (looking roughly S) you'll see high twin peaks in the distance, that may give an additional clue
On the NE ridge of Beinn a Chreachain at ~ 959m point ?
(Alternatively at the other side - NN 368 443 'ish ? )
Spot on (first one) - over to you
