    An OK price; Sportshoes
And pretty much for the reason you specify... I've got my eye on a southern Spain walk mainly on tracks and potentially around snowline for Christmas.

    A set of 4 - Nature hike tent pole repair sleeves, $3.25, 13g each, dimensions - 13mm OD * 10.9mm ID * 128mm long.
Supposed to be for 8.5mm pole but there're a good running fit over my 10.2mm DAC poles, may be a bit tight if a 'break' has a kink or a raggy end but I've got a piece of 14mm trekking pole as well to cover for that eventuality.

Here in Oz. But just looking at the Massdrop Veil windshell and it appears to be, all but identical. The Mountain Designs one has a draw string waist and adjustable cuffs but otherwise can't see a difference other than colour. All nylon as well. The Massdrop one is actually $30 cheaper but there seem to be sizing issues on the web site. The small extras on the Mountain Designs one seem to make up the extra weight. It was on ebay under 'Mens Barrier Hooded jacket Mountain Designs'.

Always wanted to try some Hokas. The ground here is so f'n hard here for months. Just not sure on my size. I like the wide fit and small drop. But the stack height concerns me a bit. Those soles look good too. Will you mainly be wearing them on flattish tramping Ed? A few of my countrymen have mentioned some durabilty issues with some of the past Hokas when worked hard.

What would the Massdrop one set you back in the old country Phil (@PhilHo) ? It is marked down quite heavily at the moment. Nice orangey colour too or staid grey/blue.

    Yes, on tracks mostly.
I've worn them on PCT sections and they were OK - wider now so better for me probably.
They are not great on rocky/difficult terrain for me, sole height and roll-off being issues.
Longevity not really a factor; I'm lucky if stuff lasts a season for me.
They are true to size for me, had to go up 1/2 a size once.

I had the same trouble when contouring off track or narrow sheep trods... Sold them after a 12 mile or so run/walk... The ankle roll had me more worried than a long tailed cat in a retirement home relaxation room full of rockin chars :woot:

That's very helpful feedback. Much better to use someone else's trial and error.

Yes, for bushwalking they aren't. But still tempted on a mesh pair of Hokas for some easy track stuff perhaps. Any recommendations?

Paramo Velez Adventure smock. First foray into a non-gortex shell .... after several ‘gentle’ persuasion/discussions with @Dave V, @Mole and @Jamess on the last few Dartmoor meets.... unfortunately handed over to wife until Christmas.

I used to carry two usb wires. Now I have one and one of these saving me the weight of 3 Werthers originals. I'm going to put a bit of wire on it so I don't lose it

These Mountain Equipment Compressor pants came over the weekend, I had quite a difficult time finding any in stock in the end I got these from Alpine trek.co.uk but they came from Rottenburg, Germany. They only had the one pair they were XXLardarse. I'm a 36inch waist and 29inch inside leg. As the idea was to wear them over my walking trousers so being big in the bum isn't a problem, in the photo's I've got them on over ordinary jeans.

Weight wise they come in at 400g (said 330g in the catalogue)

Your option is probably lighter, unless you have a one very heavy one cable. I don't, since I haven't compared (weighed) the options.
