Yes......me, cos midgies just loathe them....they work...

We got some of those when we were staying at Great Langdale campsite in June as midges were bad! Never really got to find out of they work as we seemed to take turns in treading on them

Anyone?
I seem to have accidentally ordered one...kind of intent to drag kids away from gadgets during the summer and experience...hardship and boredom :D

I take my teenage son camping as ofter as I can, when I do the only thing he takes in his mobile, but he doesn't use social media or play games on it. So yes it gets him away from the PlayStation.

The Ali J zip fits ok with a little tuck at the top, not tired the T zips. I tend to just bivy or polycro in my trailstar. I recently sold my inner as it was not getting used.

Considered bivying but thinking of midges...not sure if a bug net would be a pita to use and I'd be better off with a decent inner. I have an ali inner that should fit, but it's not full mesh.

I'm toying with an inner for my knotstar, seem to be quite a few on ali, any particular ones that can be suggested? Then I need to figure out the best way to put in attachment points.

Any of the single ones. Doesn't really matter fit wise as they'll all not be optimal. The Trailstar is a variable height shelter so if used to full advantage, the top of the inner will need tying off at different heights each variation anyhow.

Torn between using my small solid inner or a slightly bigger heavier mesh one with a decent looking bathtub (not bought yet)...

I took my trailstar copy on a trip to the Rhinogs a week ago. We had great weather so it wasn't really put to the test but I enjoyed the space it provided. I prefer the open set up, and I cut all the guys to the same length to avoid hunting for the front / back (is there a good reason why people don't do this?) . I then use two guys to support the front pole to avoid 'wobble'. Here's a link to a video I made on YouTube

@SafetyThird what I've done on some of my inners, which seems to work is sew webbing 8" down the 4 seams from the top and tie 2- 3mm elastic between them and use that to mount the inner, keeps a taught pitch with differing hights and keeps the back corners taught which isn't always the case with the 3f inners in my experience.

After two years of heavy use I've finally got round to making a review video of the Aliexpress 'Trailstar' Clone - anyone else out there still using this?

Some issues around workmanship and fabric strength but otherwise it's performed really well.

Getting hold of a MLD trailstar to compare the two in the next few weeks.

I'll give this a watch. I have one of these but have only ever pitched it in the garden.
