Hi all, first time poster so let me start with a thanks for all the great knowledge & respectful advice. Really superb. Any thoughts on the Berghaus Fast Hike 32 backpack? I can't seem to find much on it at all. I picked one up for £55 and it looks fantastic - 600g on my scale (with room to strip), simple roll top design, frameless, nice enough belt, good side pockets, wide enough shoulder straps, well made and fits my typical 3 season 6kg (ish) gear & 3kg (ish) water and food weight with a little room to spare - haven't tested it out the house though! Cons might be sweaty back and maybe an uncomfortable carry? I expect to carry no more than 10kg in it at the very most. Anyone ever used one/have any thoughts? https://www.berghaus.com/fast-hike-32-rucksack/422206.html

I nearly bought the 45 but couldn't find anywhere to try one on. Went for exped lightning 45 instead. Looks OK to me, reckon 6kg rather than 10kg would be fine. That's what is comfy for me with my Omm 32. Says you wear it rather than carry it a bit like a race vest so higher loads may be OK? Reckon you got a good deal. My omm classic was only £50 from adapt outdoors in Liverpool and great for 2/3 seasons.

The side pockets are quite loose and I have had a bottle drop out a couple of times. I also find the hipbelt pockets a bit too small especially the one without a zip which is really awkward to get stuff back into when you have it on. Great sac, very comfortable and the only things I would change is the hipbelt pocket for something larger and a large mesh pocket on the front for wet gear/more space. You can add these after though.

Thanks for the reply, funnily enough I have the Exped lightning 60 which I think is a great pack but just overkill for me at the moment, so that's the reason I felt I wanted to try something much smaller. Am definitely interested to see how the race vest style affects how it sits. Hope to test soon!

Good luck with it. Getting a bit cold for 32l pack now for me. Using my 45 this weekend with lonetree 3 (pu poly version of wickiup) and Ali solid 1 man inner. Comes in at about 1.7kg without pole so ok for December weight wise.
