Just finished a pair of carbon fiber trekking poles for my wife. FIxed length 120 cm and came in at 235 grams for the pair

Been trying out a new design for a 20/25ish Ltr day pack. VX21 and 500D multicamblack. A bit complicated to work out all the measurements because it tapers everywhere but once it was cut out it went together easily as it's basically two seams. This was meant as a winter/ski touring pack so a added velcro straps for skis and 2 removable compression straps (could reduce the strain on the zip as well), as well as a hidden ice axe loop. Seeing as my local national park (Abruzzo) now has travel restrictions, I think I'll make a lighter version and remove the ski straps but keep the compression straps. The tapered top works well when it's not full as it retains its shape more. The tops on more rectangular bags tend to sagg and flop when half empty.

I've also been messing around with a 50cm pull out table for cooking on after runs etc. Inspired by overlanding set ups but really simplified. The housing needs to be finished, but the table itself is done. Just used aluminium and riveted everything together.

Very nice

I love the Abruzzo area, sadly I no longer have any living relatives who live there.
Though I do have an uncle and an aunt who both have houses I can stay at in rocchetta Al Volturno.

Yeah it's a lovely place. At least you have a 'holiday home' there, perfect excuse to go back when the time is right!

We have £700 of BA vouchers from our cancellation last may, probably spend it on flights to Italy, but I quite fancy a trip to Scandinavia, never been.

Been 6 months in the making. I give you my "Stool Stool"...

Its a camping stool and commode combo. For no.2s, ya drops in a biodegradable bag, does ya business, and buries ya results.

Its based on a Bog-In-A-Bag design that weighs about 850g because of it's heavy-duty steel and canvas construction.

Mine has a VX21 top. The legs are carbon-fibre. The joint is from a Bog-In-A-Bag. The end caps are off eBay. It weighs 280g.

I know, lots of you don't need gear to crap in the woods. I do. So there.

Be better if there was a clear path to the ground. Four legs may be better than 3 unless you want a catcher half way to the ground :)

Oh, I've been down the 4-leg route.

Folding 4-leg stools are much harder to design and make, needing more joints and parts. It means using more and thinner uprights and the weight can go up.

Its actually an advantage to not have a clear path to the ground when doing as I do and placing a bio-degradeable bag in the seat hole. It means the bottom of the bag sits on the joint and so is supported, preventing the full weight pulling it off the seat.

What size legs did you use? I see that there are 20/18mm and 18/16mm tubes available. Do you thin 18mm would fit inside 20mm tube for sturdier design?

I think it's a great design

You see I was seeing it as an alternative to squatting. With the addition of poop capture receptacles it is genius.

Sorry for late reply, missed your post.

Got mine from ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/800mm-Ca...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

800mm (cut down to 600m), 20mmOD, 18mmID

Don't see why 18mm wouldn't fit inside. Would add to the weight off course. 600mm of the 20mmOD tubing weighs 53g. Say the 18mmOD weighed about 45g then the weight of the stool would increase by ~135g.
