As we are getting closer and no other suggestions have been made.... everyone happy with Dartmoor?

If yes, I've put a tentative route together for the two days. Each day around 10 miles, can be lengthened or shortened as needed.

Day one, setting off from either Brat Tor car park or the Fox and Hound pub which serves rather nice food and a good camp site behind the pub. This would potentially be ideal for people travelling down on Friday.?. I'm sure that if a few of us had dinner or used the camp site they would be happy for cars to be left in the CP, but would need to check this.

From there, we can take in a few Tors, visit one of bleak house ruins, a few river crossings (good if the temps are similar to this week) and make our way to Fur Tor for a camp. There is ample space for pitches on and around Fur Tor and good water pickup below.

Day two is more open, depending on the weather and how people are feeling there are a few ways back to the cars, what I have mapped out takes in a few nice spots and a couple more Tors.

The route may be a bit same'y for anyone familiar with Dartmoor so again open to suggestions of route change or completely different location ect.

P.S Ignore the stars, tipi's and other icons on the map. They are just some of my references from other things ;)

Toying with trying a summit hammock camp with my new stand. Fur tor would fit the bill.
Off on hols on Monday tho'. Guess I could make a short day of it on the Sunday.

The route is fluid, if the temps are hot or the weather closes in, I would suggest shortening the route slightly but still ending up at Fur Tor.

If it’s hot, there will be plenty of water pickup points to stay hydrated.

If anyone is heading past Bristol on the Friday evening on the way to this meet, can I grab a lift in exchange for some petrol money please?

I'm 10 mins from the motorway and it seems pointless driving down with just me in the car if that can be avoided.

Hey James's, I can pick you up mate. Reckon I will be passing by about 4 to 4.30ish on friday afternoon if that's good for you?

Last time a few of us stayed at the Fox and Hounds campground. Since we ate and drank in the pub we were able to leave our cars there. .... but then it was February so less busy ...

I’ll try and give them a ring tomorrow. We had a meeting there a while back and the landlord was pretty good to us

I'm going to head onto the moor. Nodden gate could be a winner :)

Would it be possible to join in the trip now? Didn't want to risk missing the World Cup final just in case the football was gonna come home but now we're knocked out I'd love to join.

I'm also located in Bristol (North side), maybe 10-15 minutes away from the M5/M4/M32 exits and would love a lift as I don't drive myself. Of course I'd pitch in for petrol.

    Richard

Edit - Reading through the discussion and not 100% clear, is this taking place this weekend (Friday 13th-15th July) or the next weekend (Friday 20th-22nd July)?

Hi Richard. That's fine with me. I am in a vivaro van which can squeeze 3 in the front but will be a bit tight for you two, but if your cool with it, it's ok with me.

I will be coming down the M4 from london. Can you guys pick a spot where we can all meet?

Okies as we get closer, the pub said to call and book if you wished to camp behind. not sure about parking due to the time of the year but there is a car park nor far up the road or other spots around. It may be an idea where possible to car share?

I'll prob start Friday night in the pub for a few drinks and then head up the land to camp.

Those coming please state below. I'll start a PM between everyone soon so further details can be shared.
