Bit of a thread hijack but since you seem to be a Polartec Alpha aficionado, have you by any chance tried the Rab Alpha Flash jacket (Alpha Direct with no face fabric)?

... should be here in a couple of days ...i will do a "worn once in the living room" review when it arrives, after beating myself up for buying it in the first place...

I've finally surfaced after spending the last 3 days in bed with a flu type virus. Nothing to do with the weekend and more to do with family. Thanks to Mole and James for organising such a great trip for kit testing and meeting some great folks
Most of my kit worked well. I was warm enough once I clinched the EE quilt round me. The Cumulus Ultralight Bivvy stopped the quilt from getting damp where it was tucked under the mat and from me lying on it with damp clothes, also kept the draughts out and warmth in.
The Strat 1 was perfect for spending 14 hours in.
Montane Minimus overmitts wetted out but still kept my hands warm with just a pair of liner gloves.
Minimus pants kept me dry apart from knees where I 'forced' water through.
Scarpa Zodiac Mids kept my feet dry and warm.

My Rab Arc was a complete failure. My 2 mid layers were completely soaked through and my base layer was damp. Ended up on Sunday wearing 2 base layers, windshirt and a wet hoodie over the top. Already contacted the retailer and have a returns label, wait and see what the verdict is. Think I was carrying an extra 500g of water from the other soaked fleece on Sunday.
Didn't use my Sawer or 1.5l evernew. Should have used my earplugs but didn't realise we would have visitors during the night.

    Some pics.

A ten tors training team arrived a few hours after we had pitched and woke up up with their loud chatter and torch light. They then woke us again at 0450 as they were packing away, bright torch light again and heavy chatter ;-)

I gave them a 'hard stare' through my quilt. They won't do that again!

Lol, to be fair. They probably wondered what the hell we were all sleeping under. I doubt many of hem had seen shelters like it before hand.

I did feel a little sorry when I heard one of them say their sleeping bag was soaked

We had taken the best spots, god knows how they slept. Half of them were pitched over puddles and large humps/bumps heh heh

Have to try and set another up soonish. Would be good to make the meet ups a more regular thing, hopefully that way people will have a chance to make it to one or many :)

Definitely up for this. I know it's probably easier for me, being local, but I'll happily travel for a weekend, it was really fun to get out with likeminded folks again.
