Do you find the zinc oxide tape gets stuck in your teeth?

Do you mean when cutting strips off? I don't remember using teeth when I strapped my feet last year. I think I used the scissors on penknife or ripped off by hand.

Just asking, and I know I've raised this before, but why does 10,000mAh of additional charging power need to be carried for a 1-2 nighter - I'm presuming your phone, torch and earspeakers will be fully charged at the outset, and that the purpose of your hike is not primarily to play with your tech?

Also, are you going to carry any kind of back-up manual mapping and compass?

*gasp* trekking poles marked as worn weight!

Also concur on the battery pack and charger, seems overkill. Towel and soap too?

You'll know better about pitching the Plex but i wouldn't be happy relying on just 2 groundhogs...i dont really rate the Easton Nano for main points. I'd want 4 groundhogs (full Eastons in my case).

And i was grateful recently for my 2 spare pegs and MSR Snow Stake (toilet trowel) for doubling up on the windward side.

I travel by public transport/get driven by somebody on most trips so will be spending hours on them possibly without a charging point so would potentially use a lot of power on way there. Also I will possibly be surfing/watching media on night as well as using GPS/tracking/mapping/music during day. However even without these I would still take a 10k charger minimum. That's just me and would rather sacrifice a few hundred gram for the power option if needed.

Regarding manual mapping/compass, no. Vast majority of my 1-2 nighters would not be off/far from a track anyway so even if I lost/damaged phone I would knw way back.

Yes, trekking pols are 100% worn weight same as worn clothes are for same reason. I wouldn't put a watch down as pack/base weight so why would I put trekking poles down as?

That's why there is a star next to that item as I'm still not decided on that yet. I've never taken this combo/used eastons for Plex. I have always used Groundhogs for all my points except for in case of my TS I used all 9" eastons and they were rock solid.

I will say though that the two main poins on PLex are front and back. Those are the two points that take most of strain. All rest take a lot less and I think mini Eastons should be sufficient. Afer all this lt is for Summer and don't plan on using it in strong winds or weather etc. On those possible trips I would be 100% Groundhogs.

You have 3 different sponges/cloths/towels listed...maybe one could be multi-purposed?

Carrying a chair (even an 82g one) seems at odds with a weightweenie approach. I'd ditch the chair in favour of tent stakes that will be secure.

Speaking of which. I use an MSR snow stake as a dual use toilet trowel and a tent anchor.

Knife seems surprisingly light?

I'll have another re-think about these see if I can ditch one.

My sponge is wiping the tent before I pack it down (If there is condensation)
Cloth in brew kit is there mainly to wrap things in so they don't rattle and annoy me but also server to wipe up if needed.
The compressed towels are small biodegrade and used for washing/wiping pits/bits etc so are single use and disposable.

For the sake of 82g I'd rather carry it and have option of back support if needed/wanted.

I'm fairly confident in the Groundhogs+Eastons but I am considering keeping with my usual all Groundhogs. Still undecided yet.
