Off in our van next friday for a week and can head off anywhere.
With the current predicted forcast for cold snowy weather we want to head in that direction N-E-S-or W.

So if anyone see's pointy things with white stuff on them could you drop a message in here or a picture ๐Ÿ‘

Much appreciated ๐Ÿ˜˜

That will change in the next coulle of days if the forcast above is right ...
But Jo wants to do it regardless ๐Ÿ‘

With the cold and showery Northerly air stream that looks likely next week, I'd be heading for the N Cairngorms. The sun is peppered with sunspots too, ripe for another Aurora display in the clean northerly air and nearing equinox.

It's a very messy picture with the weather next week.

I was in the Trossachs at the w/e. could see the NE face of Ben Lomond - 2 small patches of white high up on the top on Sat. but by Sun am. there was new snow high up and will be more in the week coming.
The pic I put up of my daughter was last week in the eastern Mamores.
So there isn't much of a snow "base" ATM even high up. New snow upto 20cms possible this week - which should be soft and powdery as the forecast is to stay very cold ie. no freeze thaw cycles - at least on the tops.
Crampons - carry them but use them ???
The Cobbler isn't that high or that far north ......

Did a nice 14km over the local tops this morning, Ben Lomond looked great (no snow)....a tiny dusting on those further north (probably Crianlarich hills)....

Thanks Ed.
Heading straight to Fort bill as the big boys have had a nice coat on now and have for a few days now.
Still not great around on the webcams but the Ben (hopefully CMD if conditions become right) and Aonach Mor are looking good..
Then see what the week brings.

Thanks Cathy.
The reason for the Cobbler was because thats usually as far as we can safely drive on a friday night and a nice quick hill with no drive the next day.
But we will probs stop at the falls of Falloch for the night.now heading straight for the Ben.

and Ed never offered us a brew ๐Ÿ˜†
