Wanted Ruta Locura 9" stakes

I broke one trying to bend it round a stone ……. Yes, I know, Carbon stakes were never designed for this :asshat::banghead:

i still think they are best for my usual camp locations so I'd like to replace/get some more.
But the current £:$ rate probably put the cost into the "Legalised Highway Robbery" category for Royal mail .

So does anyone have any lying around they would be happy to sell to me.

Please:)

I have some... but postage from Belgium might be... interesting.

I’ll take a look in the attic tonight if you’d like how much I still have?

I also have some, can't remember for sure, but I think I still have all 4.

Outdoorline also have them but I think it might be cheaper importing them from the states :greedy:

I bought 4 Ruta Locura 9" stakes earlier this year $15 + $6.75 delivery (£17.80 at today's exchange rate) - no other costs. They are not cheap, but still competitive: marginally less than the large Eastons from Valley and Peak (with cheapest postage, nothing else ordered) and significantly less than the large MSR core stakes from ULOG (£25). Though the MSRs are a work of art...

I really like them - but carry at least one Easton or similar in case of a pegging point requiring a little more force.

I think the £17.80 will trigger the VAT charge as it's over £15 (I don't mind that so much) but Royal mail will charge £8 handling charge - and that is plain ridiculous IMHO .

I was camping on a "bed" of moss laid over stones/boulders on a summit. I needed something that would grip the soft moss easily - a Ti hook wouldn't have helped (I do carry a couple ) - I just shouldn't have tried to shove the peg between 2 sub-surface rocks quite so persistently :whistling:.

Postage from Belgium might be OTT  - when are you coming over next ?

(-assuming you can stomach the appalling politics currently in vogue over here )

Outdoorline seem to only have the 6" stakes :(.

If you have 4 of the 9" I'd be very pleased to buy them from you . Thanks.
PM me.

Currently awaiting the state of politics before booking anything :angelic:

Looking into the Skye Trail, but that’s only next April :(

Sorry my explanation was probably not clear, my point was that I didn't get any VAT/customs charge, though I may just have been lucky

Yes, my previous orders haven't attracted VAT either, but the £ has dropped a lot against the $ recently, and the situation may be different now ?
