I recently got a Rab Pulse Hoody. Compared directly with an OR Echo (older style, it looks as if they've revamped the design) I can see absolutely no difference in the material at all.

Probably made in the same factory William. Sulphur or Orange? Not the grey!

Yep, the silverpine, I'm afraid. I don't remember the sulphur being an option when I ordered and the other colours were darker than I wanted in the sun.

Silverpine?! There is a fourth colour?
Auditioning for the Wiggles this morning. The Sulphur is nice and bright.

Got it mainly for use as lightweight sun hoody. The Motiv fabric is similar to Capilene, but softer feel. My Terramar Transport LS tee is also very similar fabric with the light grid pattern.

Had a chance to use on a few day hikes recently in sunny 75 degree weather. Wicks and dries really quick, hood provides good coverage and allows some airflow. Was concerned about durability of fabric, but no abrasion from the straps of my Talon 22. Went through some narrow brushy trail at times, but did not snag on anything. Not reeking, but some perspiration smell, could use a wash at this point.

Got it on sale at ULOG. Large, ink color, have worn next to skin and with light tee under. Seams are nicely done, very comfortable. Regular fit, not too loose or tight on me (42 chest).

If I didn't own two, I'd be tempted to buy another for the cupboard if the price was right ;)

Yup, can't have too many sun hoodies. Also have a couple of Marmot Sunrift and a UA Threadborne Seamless. The Pulse is quite a bit lighter and thinner than the Sunrift. These are pretty versatile layers as I also sometimes use as a base in cooler weather. Think the Pulse will pair well with my Alpha 60.

How's the sizing? I read some people complained about it being too baggy and big. I'm 185cm, 75kg. Will the medium fit good or is small better?

I'm 180 cm and 70kg and wear the medium. I don't find it too baggy.

Ok, looks like a medium will fit me well. Thanks!

tempted but it lacks front zip for wenting. I have OR long sleeve with chest zip and its great. Also found that Interval is less breathable to OR Echo or they've changed that with recent models.

Do they do a pulse hoody with a front zip? not so keen on the round neck.

Not that I know of. The neck is soft and loose, I love it as it is, but might add a loop & button to make it a snug fit on a cool windy day.

You'll have to add it yourself. It's actually a lot easier than I thought (I used this slightly counterintutive but reliable method) but practising on an old t-shirt is good to build up confidence before you reach for the scissors. Example with a very similar OR Echo hoody:

    Do you accept orders?

Only at your own risk. ;) I'm pretty sure any Turkish tailor or seamstress can do that in short order.

Can't understand why anyone would add the weight, discomfort of a zip to an echo or pulse.. It breathes, wicks, holds little moisture and Dries quick...
If I were to add a zip... It would be a diagonal :writing:

Unless they were wearing a layer under and needed to vent that layer?

No need for a zip. Take twelve. Action!;)

Some people prefer a hoody with a chest zip, some don't...
