@Lempo is more informed than me on these things but I think PD is only USB-C to USB-C (for Android). USB-A and micro-USB can't handle the high power level of PD.
    Some information here.

Yes, afaik, no other USB cables can do fast charging except USB C - USB C or USB C - Lightning

Sorry, didn't read properly as I thought we were talking about PD cables. I got this from AMZ, but most of them are around £6 if you buy them here.

You could probably keep searching AE. Ugreen and Baseus seem to be decent brands with lots of options. I just know that I got some no brand short cables and 3 in 1 cables and they are super slow to charge, but now I carry short 3 in 1 as a backup with minimal weight penalty.

Hmmm, is there no spec to inform you whether a USB-A cable can do any of the fast charging standards?

I'm not expecting 60W or even 30W but I know that some of my USB cables can do 20W easily and others are limited to about 5W. I want to make sure that if I buy any new cable they are the good ones not the bad ones.

    Deeper dive reveals:

Both USB 3.2 Gen 1 and Gen 2 support the USB Power Delivery Specification (USB PD), with Gen 2 offering up to 20 volts of power at 5 amps for a potential total of 100 watts through supported hardware. This is a major leap forward from the previous USB 2.0 standard which was capable of providing 2.5 watts of power.

So if you can find that spec 30cm USB A - USB C cable, that would potentially provide quick charge as long as the ports in the devices support that too. I'd imagine that the devices need to support USB 3.2 standard to be able to provide/receive higher wattage.

Yeah the issue with almost all USB cables I find is none of them are to any spec at all and even if they are it's probably a lie :banghead:

Don’t know much about power banks, but what is the best largest power bank to buy?

Possibly a Tesla Powerwall at 13.5 kWh.

At 114kg its not exactly UL though.

Seriously...It really depends just how much power you want. Good names are Nitecore and Anker.

The Anker 26800 has been a good for the past year or so. Charges in around 8 hours with dual usb input and also takes charge very well from the Anker solar panel.

There is the other end of weight spectrum: AceBeam IMR21700NP-510A-USB - 5100mAh ~73g. I haven't tried it yet, plan is to get for Christmas.

It's a multi use brick. Could be used to knock a rim back into shape, or hold down a tent peg in a gale.

When I've flown with it, the plane tilts to one side. I have to pump the bike tyres up more when I ride with it.

Can that be used as a power bank or is it just a rechargeable battery that doesn't need a charging unit? I doesn't seem to have an output socket.

It looks like the cable is not included in the weight numbers - another 20g?

Only 1A charging and my phone wouldn't charge at that.

That's for between slow charge and normal/fast not between normal and fast (that's why I said albeit with a typo "not low current mode").

In that case the Nitecore 21700 5000mAH NL2150i with powe Bank module at 83g (+ cable) might be better.

Have been looking at this and the equivalent ravpower version, the Rav version has a faster charge but you have to have there plug charger in which
doesn’t come UK compatible at this time, which seems more simpler to the Anker version of using two power cords for a faster charge.
