Plan was for Scafell but it was just too bitter cold and windy on top and frozen ground...

@Diddi looks a really good spot that you ended up at anyway. What temperature was it there?

Tbh Phil it was the only spot we could find that was even partly sheltered up high and that was still to get a buffering from the freeeeezing winds :confuseded:..
As for temps i would have to guess at about -3 with a windchill of about -10 ...
We sat in the porch watched the sunset, caught the milky way and a shooting star or two then retired to our bags for some netflix :).
Awoke early before the sunrise and a quick walk upto Scafell summit....

I love the packing away scene speeded up. :)
Some gorgeous colours in there; made me want to pack the glowsticks, and bust some old school moves to DJ Dougal in the fells. :D

Damn, now it's pouring. Still waiting for the tide.... first bluff in the distance should be passable now-it's almost underwater with a two metre swell running. 20191204_085844.jpg
I can feel the caffeine twitch beginning

Getting closer--Hmmm the swell is more like 3-4 metres.
Sat atop the bluff in the distance a few hours back. Looks a good stealf spot. Shhh. Rife with Tiger Snakes stay away.
Walked here before but still feeling a tad twitchy -want to stay away from the cliffs.
Have turned back before-may have to again.

    20191204_101435.jpg
Bugger it -looks like wet feet, shorts, undies-water temp is still about 12 degrees.

    20191204_102200.jpg
Made it and not a wet toe. Ran like I stole something across a sandy stretch and walked very slowly and gingerly over the rock-almost shoe piercingly sharp

    20191204_104052.jpg
No wild life seen today-really disappointed. Usually many and varied.
    Not another soul seen.
Back at my valiant charger -497,000 kms on the clock -a ute composed of rust, dirt, lichen and and gristle -should get me to the servo for some petrol and....

    20191204_112138.jpg
two vegie Dimmies and a vegie Samosa. Look at the size of the buggers-beanie for scale.
The drive home with my parcels of goodness was alright.
