Pa'lante's Instagram has a little video showing a Simple with a hipbelt that pulls out of the side pockets. The story also includes a cute puppy. :)

Pretty small changes but I think it’s good to keep on developing the original design. The S-shaped straps seems nice.

At $225 without hipbelt and $235 with plus shipping and the customs I have a feeling I won't be ordering. :(

Even heavier it is still damned cute though.

They've a user manual , it is kind of brief. :)

Seems they've changed a lot. 150D cuben, dyneema X shoulder straps and side pockets, dyneema mesh front (which @theoctagon said wasn't really very stretchy iirc), hook buckle top strap, new sternum strap system, strap pockets look bigger with a cord opening, the panel shape is a bit different... note the front mesh widening towards the top, drainage in side pockets with that big hole for the hipbelt.

Some good, some not so much imho. It is definitely better value for money now though with a more complex design and more expensive materials. Still, using cuben and no mention of taped seams seems an oversight that most wouldn't mind paying a bit extra for.

When it first arrived I didn't think it had anywhere near as much stretch as the super stretchy stuff, it definitely has less, but after using it a couple of times I think it's got enough. Notice they’ve kept the more stretchy stuff for the bottom pocket.

I'm surprised the price hasn't gone up with the V2, pretty much a complete change in materials, all of which are more expensive than those used on the V1. Plus I imagine it takes a little longer to sew.

If only I needed another pack :)

I'd does look better value and more durable.
It has the bling for those who care about such things. ..
The dxg seems in response to strap failures. A case could be made that for an increase of a few tens of grams it could be made much cheaper and possibly more durable, but then it wouldn't have the hip factor.
I might experiment with the 220d xpac sans x grid and with just the thick plastic coating. It's light and not expensive. Throw in some dxg and hyperD300...

Still loving my MLD prototype at around a quarter of the weight (including hip-belt).
Not seeing the need for ultra-expensive fancy materials for a lightweight pack.

Where are you getting that from? Closest I've seen is X21 (210D with x grid but no backing fabric).
