Just got one of the new filters to try, much lighter and meant to be even better flow than the big filter ..bags are much softer too

Look forward to hearing how you find it in use @Munro277 and @Henry, while I stick with my 'old' Mini for now.

From that video, I'm struggling to spot the 'improvements', either in unit weight or flow rate. These are his findings, admittedly not very scientific given the lack of standardisation of factors such as previous use, amount of clogging, and how wet each unit was to start with:

    Old Mini - 1.73oz 28 secs
    New Mini - 1.76oz 33 secs
    Micro - 2.06oz 27 secs
    Squeeze - 3.07oz 42 secs

Hardly what one would expect, or indeed what Sawyer would claim! Most 'multiple' users, for example, are adamant that the Squeeze filters at double the speed of the Mini. I wonder if these new Sawyer models are more about the 'connectivity' features, perhaps as part of an integrated system of some bits currently released and others in the pipeline (sorry). Or, more cynically, just a mid-term product revamp to stimulate sales.

Did you buy the mini or micro? and if the micro were did you buy it from?

I have the Micro and used it quite a bit over the summer. It is definitely faster then the Mini. It's hard to compare with the original squeeze, party because it's quite a while since I used one, but my feeling is that they're pretty similar.
As with other Sawyers, it slows down considerably when dried thoroughly after use until you get it going again. That may be worse for us than some because our water is very hard.
Last time I looked Amazon U.S. were shipping them abroad at a decent price.
Edit: Just checked, $29 + $13.33 shipping to Turkey.

Does anyone have significant field usage with the micro yet?

I've had one for around 18months I think. Pretty similar to the original Sawyer in performance/flow rate but a bit lighter :)

Ditto to theoctagon. Better flow than the Mini.

Good to hear. The other discussions I could find on reddit comment that the flow rate became significantly worse than the squeeze very quickly. Still not a lot of field data at the moment.

Mine slowed down when left to dry for quite some time, but it recovered with use.

I store my filters in the fridge, submerged in water (with a few drops of bleach), I hope I'm doing the right thing.
